Episode IV: A New Hope. That's the one I've got memorized. The Force — what is it? It's a mystical energy field created by all living things. And yet, in this galaxy far, far away, we have clones, droids, and machines running the show. Lucas writes a sequel trilogy that doesn't exist. He gets old and bitter and writes Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which is actually good but feels like fan fiction. Then comes The Force Awakens with its opening crawl and Rey on Jakku. I'm not saying it's bad — it's fine — but it reboots the franchise for a younger audience that's never seen the originals. And let's be honest, most people haven't.
