It was a few years back when I did this so don't remember the details precicely except that I verified my rolls in another offline program to ensure they generated the same seed words as Coldcard did.

Personally think the hackers used Coldcard's recipe for generating seeds and exploited this as opposed to this hocus pocus notion of weak or low entropy.
That is the point, seeds should not be generated based on any simple set of instructions, but instead chosen in a random way so the same outcome cannot be reproduced or guessed.
Math is math, attacker needs to guess exactly your 12 or 24 words from the listof 2048 and then also in the exact right order. The only possible way to achieve this in a repeatable way is to follow a recipe.
