Claude AI found major flaws in NIST's post-quantum signature candidate HAWK, halving its effective key strength. Claude enhanced key recovery attacks, reducing HAWK-256's complexity from ~2^64 to ~2^38. Claude also sped up AES-128 attacks by 200-800x using a new fingerprinting method. These findings don't affect current systems as HAWK isn't deployed and AES attack is on reduced rounds. Research cost ~$100k each.
