Something really amazing about Nostr is how it's an "everything app" without trying to be.
While Elon is trying to make X the west's version of WeChat, centralizing important digital infrastructure and marrying it to your social presence, Nostr's existence as a protocol means it can virtually do everything X is trying to become, but in a way that preserves users' freedom.
Nostr can be a microblogging experience. It can be a longform blogging experience. It can be used for videos, live streams, games, wikis and many other possibilities, all while being built in parallel with decentralized financial systems through BTC/Lightning.
There has been plenty of buzz and criticisms over the concept of Web3, and understandably so, but Nostr is effectively the backbone of what a third iteration of the World Wide Web should be. I can't wait to see what Nostr and its various projects look like in 10+ years' time. #optimism #nostr #decentralization #bitcoin #zaps #freedom
