There were 2 ballot pages of candidates for governor, most on the left. Only 2 advance, so who in the top 3 is "leading" by a fraction means diddly, for the general. Voters for also rans will vote for the one who made it through who most agrees with their POV.
The biggest outstanding area is LA -- it's the biggest area and takes longest to count -- so the later vote count will lean more liberal anyway.
OTOH, Becerra was endorsed by Dolores Huerta, so you can toss that "California went for the moderate v liberal" out the window. Huerta and the UFW are GOTV powerhouses.
And that's the serious side. Then there's the bullshit "illegals are voting", "takes so long because the D's are deciding how many ballots to fake" crap. We used to be a purple state; then came Ahnold, cuts and deficit spending.
