Meet LibreNostr
LibreNostr is a community-focused Nostr client built to keep the protocol truly decentralized.
It started as a fork of Primal (coz of cool UI), then progressively removed proprietary dependencies, centralized caching services, and platform-specific limitations. LibreNostr connects directly to Nostr relays, giving users more transparency, control, and independence.
No mandatory custodial wallet.
No centralized feed infrastructure.
No hidden algorithmic gatekeepers.
Just your keys, your relays, and the open Nostr protocol.
LibreNostr is designed around a simple principle:
Don’t trust, verify.
Use Amber or another external signer to keep your private key safely outside the app, choose your own relays, and interact with Nostr on your terms.
The project is still evolving, and contributions, testing, bug reports, and ideas are welcome.
