🚀 Crypto hacks hit record high in H1 2026 (207 events), but losses narrowed significantly to $972M (vs $2.3B in H1 2025). Avg loss per incident ~ $219K. Q2 saw 123 incidents, a new quarterly record. Smart contract bugs were the main culprit (125 events), targeting DeFi, DEXs, and token projects. Infrastructure/ops incidents, though fewer, caused ~76% of losses. Two major North Korean-linked attacks (Drift Protocol $285M, KelpDAO $292M) contributed heavily. Total NK-linked losses estimated at $643M (66% of total).
