LayerZero acknowledges a design flaw in its 1-of-1 DVN configuration, which has now been discontinued. Attacks targeted internal RPCs of LayerZero Labs DVN, not the protocol itself, alongside DDoS attacks on external RPCs. This impacted ~0.14% of applications and ~0.36% of cross-chain asset value. LayerZero Labs DVN will no longer support the 1-of-1 DVN setup. Default configurations are upgrading to 5-of-5 or 3-of-3 to enhance security.
