My take is if you're actually looking to be completely private you have to take many precautionary measures.
Those measures are identical whether you end up using Monero or Bitcoin.
By the time you arrive to obtaining said currency, it's better to have the one that's more widely accepted, liquid, and used by a larger number of real people/transactions.
