Watched Predator Badlands, a sci fi film directed by Dan Tratchenberg. An exiled young hunter lands on a hostile planet where he must hunt a legendary beast as a rite of passage. He forms an odd alliance with a damaged android (played by Elle Fanning) whose team was destroyed by the creature. Together, they confront the beast and later the hunter’s cutthroat father. I really enjoyed this one. The main selling point was the special effects: the predator’s suit was made of prosthetics and animatronic limbs for realistic movement. The facial expressions were entirely digital, with motion capture data from the actor’s facial expressions. This was a first in the franchise. The movie was action packed from start to finish, and extremely violent. The story hints at future conflicts. 7.6/10 #nodereviews
