Concept is great. Practical feedback: I'm having a hard time figuring the system out, not sure if this is because I'm on Firefox, UI/UX issue, network latency, or I'm just dense (likely). For example, It shows in the R side bar "10 players" but I am not listed among them? Briefly; Eufy has had a lot of problems including "encrypted" streams not really being encrypted (https://www.channelnews.com.au/eufys-chinese-owners-finally-admit-their-security-cameras-were-a-security-risk/) as well as that they are Chinese owned and manufactured.
Ubiquiti is US owned and Taiwanese manufactured; and further I use a complete Ubiquiti networking stack (gateway, switching, wifi) so it was a great fit.

Bitcoin has existed for >5 times as long (17 years) than tulip mania (3 years, 1634-1637). Considering that information travels, and the world changes, much faster now than in 1637, this is like 100x the lifespan. Altogether this suggests that Bitcoin is nothing like the Tulip Mania fad of the 17th c. The end.

Thanks for helping reveal unspoken predicates and assumptions on my part. To be clear, I already had a self-custody lightning node and have for many years. This can be hosted at home and exposed on clearnet, run on Tor, protected by VPN, Cloudflare tunnel, or other means. LND is easier to find compatible LNURL-pay software. Liquidity costs (for inbound channel) can be pretty low. Alternatively, you can open outbound only (free), spend sats as you would normally, and anything you spend becomes inbound liquidity to your node.
If you can run LND or Core Lightning, you can surely also run the LNURL-pay software, so no extra costs or overhead there.
You will need a domain which runs you $10-$50 / year. I use porkbun.com

Being on nostr since 2022 I just sort of set up my lightning address with a Wallet of Satoshi address and forgot about it (to say nothing of my mercurial use of nostr).
So many zaps over the years ... like tears in rain (Bladerunner.jpg).
Anyway I finally got around to self-hosted LNURL pay/Lightning Address/Zap infrastructure and now I need to come up with some banger notes to make up for lost time and lost sats.

I use and strongly recommend Ubiquiti as a self-hosted on-prem video doorbell (and more generally, surveillance) system. PoE or WiFi.

Imagine a chain tip that looks like (A, B, C) where C represents the most recent block, and the one in which your transaction was included. Suppose next that a miner who had been working with (A, B) looking for C shortly after finds a different block, C‘. Should/could/will the next miner to find a block D build on C or C prime? If they build on C‘, your tx is no longer included in the longest chain. c, containing your block is an "orphan block". This is a simple version of a "chain reorganization". The 6 block rule of thumb seeks to minimize this probability (that your tx is reorged away)

BUT! as I've posted elsewhere, I recently returned from a 9-10 month break from nostr and have some first-hand perspective. Overall while the experience _looks_ nicer, it's certainly not _easier_.
Until my grandmother can join and participate fully (incl zapping), it's a plaything for technically-inclined Bitcoiners and if we're lucky, other freedomtech-oriented subcultures.

AHA. It's a Primal-Alby interaction problem. Alby error (see below) crashes primal. If I enable Alby to run in FF Private mode, Primal no longer loads. Removing it again restores ability to load Primal.
Alby shows the error "Error: e.payment_hash is undefined" when browser URL is `primal.net`. Evidently Primal fails to parse (and then just fails) some WebLN API response?

I would LOVE to know why Primal doesn't load past the application shell in Firefox (have restarted, cleared cookies, cleared localStorage), but loads fine in private mode and in other browsers.

Thanks for that. I've probably been thinking about this wrongly. In a hyper inflationary env I guess the central bank has competing priorities: high rates need to bring inflation under control, but low rates preferred to allow government to still service its debt. I'm still curious which would prevail in a debt spiral.

Niche product for managing industry-specific documents that lies between "nice-to-have" and "can't believe how I lived without it". No competitors in the space. Value to customer is time saved and improvement in apparent competence by enhancing professionalism of their external-facing documents. Big difficulty I have is pricing the individual plan (hook them) vs. enterprise group plan (without a sales team, I'd rely on satisfied individual users to kick up to management).

Gotcha. I am a HUGE fan. The hashicorp stack in general adheres to the Unix philosophy of doing one thing and doing it very well. Nomad is an excellent orchestrator, far easier to learn and deeply than k8s, has features missing from k8s, cannot say enough good things

Don’t understand your question; Nomad is a versatile orchestrator (can replace or augment k8s), and besides regular job types, it can run scheduled jobs too, ie you can schedule a container to run periodically with cron syntax. It has outstanding documentation
