A tariff is a tax on imported goods that is paid by the American person/company buying the imported product.
A US tariff on Canada means that Americans buying Canadian products are paying that tax, NOT Canada.

This made me think of #CitizensUnited and that even more egregious recent #SCOTUS ruling that both declared that spending money = free speech (which would only work if EVERYONE had the SAME amount of money to spend).

Funny you should use this example. One of my cats recently figured out how to slam the bedroom door shut. The first time it happened it scared the dickens out of me. Even now, when I know it's the cat slamming the door, it still provokes a little frisson of fear. I suppose I'll eventually get used to it, but... yeah... "eerie".
