I've ready the majority of the cypherpunk emails from the 90s and 2000s. I can't think of any instance where they were concerned about finding or needing funding. Seems weird that's what devs care about now.

I am calm, but this is deadly serious. Bitcoin is the closest to sound money we have. It is one of the only tools in your average Joe's toolbox to fight back against the government's that make us vax, censor us, seek to control us, etc. Do me a favor. Pick a "bitcoin" company. Go to their website and look up their investors, seed funders, etc. Go to Edgar and look up each of those investors. Look at the other companies they invest in. You'll quickly realize that all these "based bitcoin" companies are part of the same interconnected web of investors. You'll begin to see a pattern. Then look at what the people and influencers at your favorite "bitcoin" company are saying about BIP-110. It becomes really black and white.

Bitcoin's network could become so compromised that it dies. That is why we need BIP-110. What many do not think about that Bitcoin cannot die. If the current iteration fails, the principles and theory is not destroyed. You just start over from the first block. Sound money will always become more valuable than fiat debt. It may set us back decades in terms of fiat "value," but perhaps if BIP-110 were to fail the world will need a contentious minority to hard fork or start over. It may take decades or centuries, but sound money is a safeguard against evil that the general public needs.

So dumb on many levels. 1. Bitcoin is infinitely divisible. 2. Bitcoin was created to destroy Keynesian systems such as inflation. 3. If people are really worried about miner fees in 100 years (which is retarded) make blocks smaller so that when their is madden adoption if people wish to close a lightning channel or make a payment on-chain they must be willing to pay miners a hefty fee.

What the pro-spammers don't realize is that if there is a chainsplit, myself and probably thousands of others will patiently wait, run nodes, and mine on the true chain as long as it takes. There never needs to be any threshold for activation for a uasf. You could make your own soft fork tomorrow and as long as you are running the code it activates. It probably won't go anywhere with you being the only person running it, but it is a disingenuous argument to say something along the lines of a "lower precedent for future changes."
