No, it’s not, but it’s pretty cheap. We’re paying about $6 for every 10–15k requests, and each user has a usage limit before it falls back to Google Translate. As the platform scales, we’ll probably move to a local model running on our own infra.

you can use almost anything to generate a seed. the real question is whether your method gives you true randomness. you could literally sit on any street, watch black and white cars pass (or any other two colors), assign one color 0 and the other 1 and use that sequence of bits to build your seed.

Fair point. Multiple relay subscription, overlapping event streams, duplicate payloads and profile/metadata refreshes can burn bandwidth if the client is lazy about it. The fix is tighter filters, aggressive deduping, closing streams after EOSE when possible and lazy loading media. Relay fan out doesn’t have to mean 5GB of roaming traffic but the client has to be disciplined about what it asks for.
