In my journey of learning to become a dev after stumbling upon a free resource of plebdevs I am already well ahead of where I was going down the computer science education route. While concepts from that are important, I find paving my own path with to learning with free resources to be far more beneficial. I want to start some regular reflection posts on NOSTR about how my journey is going.
So far I’m reflecting even more on why I am interested in this sort of thing with a coming world of AI that basically builds any tool for you, and it’s coming down to the Bitcoin ethos if don’t trust, verify. While I will possibly never know as much as some of the people building BIPS, or even as the original cypherpunk ethos of cypherpunks build tools, it is a way to expand one’s own sovereignty by being able to more easily audit some FOSS projects out there or to even build some projects of my own.

I see it bringing in more regulation, but perhaps it also drives further development of platforms for transactions as well. I see less retail adoption directly as it becomes more unaffordable for the masses, and many feel it’s too late for them.

NGU is not the point. Sure more value can buy you more things including your own health in some circumstances. Sovereignty and freedom is the point and most people are missing that. The ability to make immutable transactions in transference of value units in a finite money will become more and more expensive as time goes on into the future. Good friend of mine who’s a low key maxi has probably the best perspective, every time I send him a meme or message about bitcoin he doesn’t even know price went up or price went down. Currently given circumstances he doesn’t stack sats but he doesn’t check it he just knows it will be there when he wants to come back to it. He goes on living life outside of this circle and in the mean time HODLs, but down let it effect him all that much.

Web of trust… I find myself trying to break out of the patterns of the podcast narrative within the bitcoin sphere itself. I think people all too much are going to become zombies regurgitating the so called facts of what ChatGPT and Google tells them is fact. Addiction may or may not exist, but if it exists I believe it to be a control structure that so many find themselves within, myself included. I haven’t thought long enough or hard enough about this part: obsession so called compulsive patterns exist but for a reason, they tend to soothe an anxiety and that compulsory pattern that seems to be the issue just tends to provide relief, albeit temporarily. Same with so called addictive patterns. They just happen to be the relief we use to ease some sort of internal or external problem and the pattern don’t tend to benefit us in the long run.
There’s a book called the Freedom Model that has nothing to do with NOSTR or Bitcoin and yet I find many overlaps. Time preference, sovereignty, questioning existing teachings and structures.
In the Freedom Model there is a concept that one is responsible for and is actually in control of their self destructive habit. We in some form know the cost whether we acknowledge it or not the whole time when we have a self destructive pattern. Carnivore- question the narrative.. meat is bad for us? Nah it’s amongst the most real food out there! Got me wanting to try carnivore again but this time the right way.
In regards to the sunlight thing, I think sun is absolutely important, and it’s hard as a night shifter to make sure I get enough but always feel better when I do.
Blue light reduction is a huge one I’ve been trying too.. blue light filter on my phone, switched from LED lights to Halogens and incandescent, a lot of the old tech is just better in some ways.

How realistic is this guy’s views in “a few years”? I think it is an important innovation in terms of solving many problems we have but I think inevitably we will reach a plateau again of more problems to be solved that AI is unable to within science fields. AI much like social media and the internet has two sides. One is very good in the sense that it can bring useful knowledge to use quickly and efficiently, but on the flip side we can also become too reliant on it to the point where we’re handicapped without it. But there can be such efficiency gains to be had that perhaps using it in everyday life for most things that maybe the tradeoff is worth it? One of my friends was weirded out by Jordi Visser’s use of the term relationship with AI and he is fixated on that as opposed to seeing the efficiency gains that Jordi Visser’s talks about on Pompliano’s podcast. Opinions on AI/ relationships? I think my friend is correct in saying it’s not a relationship as it’s an interaction with a computer but he fixates on something that is tangentially unimportant in the context of efficiency gains to be had. #asknostr

When discussing ideas like what is Austrian economics and anarchocapitalism and Jeff Booth’s type stuff where the true nature of a free market is deflation, and we’ve never lived in a truly free market etc. with my family and or friends they are open to hearing the ideas up and to the point where they start saying the typical the anarchy can only exist for a minute in time before more government is formed ( which in the sense of some organizational structure that sets rules I.e. a government forms I agree with) but also that through a government a free market is allowed to exist( through maintaining a monopoly on violence to enforce patents etc. Definetely not bearish, just realizing we are super early, I think we have a long ways to go before people realize the good side of deflation and the nature of having a free market economy. Call it Stockholm syndrome?

I’m under the impression that any quote “collapsing empire / nation / dynasty … whatever the people of that empire tend to say that about their ancestors that stood for what they quote believe in. However unlike most of the past nation experiments, none have stood for the individual freedom as much as the one we have now of the United States, and yes through our own country’s history there has been many a dark and very oppressive part of it that has evolved over time in to in many ways still the most free country in the world. And now more than ever freedom and individual sovereignty is possible to a much higher degree than ever before, and will likely become even more so in ways we may not even fathom.

Had to download the file to get it to work properly. It was stopped at about 16 seconds in and wouldn’t work on streaming mode. I had to download the file and force airplane mode before it switched to actually playing the audio. Ironic that’s being talked about in part of this podcast.

Straight up positivity man! Having radical accountability for where one is at in life is actually rather liberating and it comes with the realization that you’re not stuck where you are which helps even more with the abundance mindset. And definitely proof of work by doing something leads to bigger results than worrying about what to do. Similar mindset people helps with both. Great post!

Been thinking about this a lot lately with my own stack vs how I’ve been living shorting the US dollar by stacking as hard as I could while making minimum payments on credit card debt and other loans. I probably have outperformed my interest rate but my credit isn’t the best and it eats into what I can actually utilize each month whether for stacking more or just cash flow in general. So I’ve had the realization lately that I want to build more of the life I want starting now rather than living and waiting for when value go up is big enough. Sucks I won’t be able to stack as hard now in the short term while prices are low compared to where they are going, but I must remember I’ve stacked for a while already but it’s probably time to build a little more on the personal sovereignty side and to quit being a debt slave. The saving in BTC is long term strategy so I have plenty of time to do so still

Note on that though, as you say in your V -Logs, really Bitcoin Itself doesn’t do that, it just provides a potential means to be able to self actualize for humanity. That change has got to occur within oneself first and foremost.
