My git migration is complete except for a 30gb art repo. It died 25% the way through because Ubuntu decide to autoupdate and kill my git server. Thanks Ubuntu!

My Linux laptop died. It gets a BIOS error on boot. I don't know what is happening, this happened a year ago and I fixed it but don't remember how. Something about decrypting the hard drive (really a SSD) but I can't stop calling them hard drives.

Multi-level Dungeons with stairs. You can also make prefabs of a collection of objects and put them in the dungeon as a "set piece". The wooden stairs work that way. It's prefab of 4 separate objects and all get placed as one. A height map is auto-made from the 3d model so you can walk up the stairs. No special logic.

I gave up on using physics to define the dungeon, I spent a day screwing with it (math is stupid) so I decided for my use-case, a simple height map works better. I don't have rooms under rooms so this was much easier.

I really like @nprofile…j90w but one thing I do not like is I can't customize the buttons in the tool bar. I never use Archive or Snooze, but 99% of the time I want actions behind the "More" button (like mark unread). Why can't I configure the button bar to be what I use, not what you (incorrectly) think I would use.

Got Raylib 6.0 working, I think the real problem was I was trying to do fancy things by accessing member data in the .a I should not. I figured out more "official" ways and all works now.

I've been following these videos. I love his style, but he talks too fast and make a lot of assumption on how blender is set up. I just want him to slow down. Way down. Way way down. Describe everything he is doing and then describe it again. And then again. I get talking fast during his 10 minute challenges, but not in his tutorials.

One thing I hate about Blender is the middle mouse button for moving the camera. My middle mouse button is also the scroll wheel and it's hard/stiff to push and often scrolls with I do. I want to make right-click the middle and the middle be right-click. I might have to look for 3rd party solution. It's driving me crazy. And yes, I know you can remap the middle button to alt+button, but that is what I want.

I wrote some code so if two entities run into each other they stop and talk for a few seconds, but due to a bug they become a bunch of extroverts and never stop talking.

Please don't go to GDC. They charge a lot of money when the main benefit is socializing outside the conference and add to that the danger of traveling to the U.S and GDC must end. I have a lot of problems with GDC and how they con attendees and speakers with "it's good for your career" bullshit. I haven't gone in years and won't in the future.

First pass of my 3D particle emitter for my Raylib game is done. I'm going to wait until it's feature complete before I re-write it for the GPU, something I have no idea how to do. It's only emits sphere meshes, which is fine for now since it stylistically fits the game's art.

I've gotten too used to the silent Mac Laptops. Struggling to find an equally silent laptop I can use for Linux (and buy in NZ). Why does Apple have to make awesome hardware and also be a horrible company. Distros that work on Mac hardware are too experimental right now, don't recommend them. I know all about them. You're wasting the limited amount of typing you have in this life.

Coming along great with VSCode and compiling (and more impartially) debugging c++. This all bodes well for the move to Linux once I get a new laptop. I found rcodesign for code signing Mac apps on Linux. No idea if it works yet but it would completely break by dependence on a Mac and still be able to build Mac versions.

My 24 hour experiment with copilot is over. It does suggest some interesting completions but I spend too much mental energy seeing if it's right and it's a UI/hover mess that too distracting.
I'm back to being 100% AI free.
That said, VSCode is a good c++ IDE, much better then I thought. Not as good as Xcode, but very workable. The thing I was looking for was break-points and stepping into code and it does it.

Copilot is driving me crazy. It makes some decent suggestion but my screen is flashing with hovers and phantom text it wants to place. How does anyone get work done with the mess. Sometimes I accept it's recommendation and it added extra } braces.

One reason I like raylib is it's all code. Unity and Unreal drive me fucking crazy because you do everything in a gui. I know people who have used just the rendering part of Unreal but they say it's a real pain and not recommended. I'm a programmer, I like to code.

Running into a big limitation of Raylib. It only support very simple 3d animation. It can't do blending between animations (like walk -> run). Hopefully this is on their roadmap. I'm having a lot of fun with Raylib but I don't think I could release a game with it, even a small toy game, mostly due to the animation issue. I'm going to write a blog post about my experience with raylib.

Since I was doing raylib work in c/c++ I took the time to set up VSCode to compile and debug. Its not as good as Xcode but it very useable. It will make my transition to Linux easer. Next step is buying a good laptop. My old Linux one is dead.

The problem with ditching services like Discord or Google Docs or Dropbox isn't me, I'm happy to do it. It's everyones I need to work with. They aren't going to join my self-hosted service just to exchange work files or chat, etc. I've tried.
