Was working on https://21ideas.org in a cafe and a guy sitting at a next table asked me what I was doing.
I told him about #Bitcoin and about my project. And he seemed genuinely interested and was asking a bunch of questions. One of the biggest wins during the conversation imo was that I explained why "Bitcoin, not CrYptO". Told him about the DAO fork, the Blocksize wars, Austrian economics, FOSS... and gave him the link to the English version of the website.
It was the most dense and – from what I felt – the most fruitful lecture on Bitcoin I ever gave, and the best part was that it was a discussion/QnA.
At the end he said the funniest thing:
"Cool! I've heard about bitcoiners before, but until today I never met one."
Today another orange seed was planted.
Onwards.

Multivendor multisig seems like the best option today if we talk about single point of failure risk mitigation.
DIY devices like @nprofile…gdw8 are a good option if you're comfortable with assembling one and rolling the dice to generate a seed. It kills two birds with one stone: lets you build from general purpose components and derive your own entropy (verifiable as well by cross-checking with other tools like Ian Coleman's offline seed generator) and minimizes the supply chain attacks -- a loud issue since the recent Trezor user data leak. Ledger's customer data got leaked before as well.
The arguable downside of DIY is (some level of) expertise needed as well as confidence (for a piece of mind after the setup is done).
End of the day there are trade offs everywhere. That's life.

Fixing the Coldcard issue is "easy" -- just audit the code thoroughly.
But can manufacturers mitigate supply chain attacks risks?
Users can by using fake addresses or POBoxes detached from their identities, but not every normie will do that.

It's kinda crazy to even say it out loud, but making such a joke is almost impossible today on traditional social media.

I just set up an MCP server to allow natural language queries to @npub1tca…09hn database. Works well, but I fail to get the nostr bot to fetch the p tag - whenever someone tags it - in order to process the request and reply.
