Prelim cutting instructions were sent out - and I have finished cutting. Batting was a leftover bundle I found in the cupboard. Backing is lots of FQs and leftovers as it's QAYG. Last night I went to bed with 3 options - summer blanket over me, furry blanket at the end of the bed and duvet on the bed-end. I did pull up the furry blanket for about an hour early this morning. So today I've made the bed up with summer linen and blanket - with a warmer blanket on the end just in case. He is in a nursing home, has dementia and has no recollection of my brother or me. He was a cyclist, riding at least an hour a day up until he was 89. So while he is quite frail, he is sure on his feet. He is deaf too - tinnitus from aeroplane noise. There is now nowhere you can sit outdoors in all seasons. Lots of professional long-arm type quilting or lots of straight line quilting. So when they were here and getting on the table, I put down an old patchwork square for them to sit on. And they did. I just did straight diagonal lines but there’s double batting under the body and the purple/yellow colour spots on the wings so it’s a bit more 3D. It was sewn by the convict women on the ship Rajah on their journey to Australia in 1841. The women sewed it to show they weren’t all useless, lazy, thieving, wanton females.
