sure, i agree, people living vicariously through their kids achievements sucks and i really dislike the sports club systems with all the pressure and all the stress.
but structured play is also really good for kids, an essential part of growth, and is actually really, really good at helping some young people avoid negative outcomes in life.

short term goals are never impossible. so if you want things to change, they're the best way to go.

there was a beautiful moth at work today. i know very little about them, but this was a fuzzy little fellow, orange, big fluffy eyebrows. i picked him up and set him free out the window and several colleagues acted like i had picked up a live munition by the way they ducked for cover.
moths are the teddy bears of the insect world. they are soft and fuzzy and cannot harm you even if they wanted to. peace be upon all moths.

advice/insight please
i spent a lot of my high school life just not doing work that i didn't like doing (see: all homework that wasn't history) and just avoiding the consequences (detention doesn't mean anything if you don't go) while still doing everything important (tests)
turns out those consequences are having zero tolerance for the parts of my job that i don't like doing/don't see as important, and that i also avoid doing them
is this an #ADHD thing or...?
