It became laid with ammo with more focus into action, introduced weapon upgrade, and if you pay attention to RE4 or RE5 "viruses", they actually behave like parasites. Those were all PE territory.

It's worse indeed if they resell later, since most of the preoders just happened because it was sold as "preoder exclusive" and it's plain as fuck.
Well to be quite honest I never faced RE4 or 5 as arcade shooters, instead I just compared to other games, them being TPS or having elements of shooting, and since most of those I compared to is fast paced, RE4 or 5 feels slow to me.
Yeah, but they could have at least used 5x5 square instead of 3x3 square for inventory and have the same benefits, without forcing the player to only have even fewer blocks for ammo, weapons and healing when they finally get protection gears.
I never played RE past 5 so I can't add much to the topic, but I tested a bit of 6 and couldn't bear even playing with cousin LOL

I confess I'm not invested into the series, I finished 4 and 5, and pretty much just tested the others. For the og triology, I don't like to play a game with guns and being forced to not use it most of time, it's a lame design in my book which will make me pick Parasite Eve duology instead (and the fact Capcom changed the franchise in RE4 to be more like PE speaks volumes).
For me what really dragged down RE5 is that shit inventory, it's the very definition of anti-fun design after what we had in RE4, aside this and the asthetics, is pretty much what RE4 was, but with a helpful partner (and possible coop multiplayer)

No one talks enough how the preorder "classic" skin for Jill was a big scam LOL.
Yeah the puzzles in RE4 is so easy that sometimes it feels it solved itself with you pressing buttons randomly, the gunplay is not shiny either. The medieval asthetics with guns, fun inventory management and the characters is what really carried RE4

Finished both SMB3 and SMB1, the All Stars version of course. Anyways, Super Mario Bros 3 is very cool with so many power ups made for you to cheese some entire levels (you better store good ones for world 7 and 8), bonuses and stuff that it's actually better than Super Mario World, but my pick for fun would still be Super Mario Bros 2 (or Super Mario USA as it's know in Japan)
There's not much reason to play SMB1 at this point in time really, maybe for education if you're a game developer or for a quickie since you will be finishing this very quickly, it's barebones but SOMEHOW the water levels in this game is less trash than in SMB3.
