This occurred to us too. At what point does Bitcoin become big enough that "joining it" is a net win for a country? Like sure, the country loses its ability to control its own currency and rates, but for many their currency isn't that great already OR they are part of the EU and as such, they already no longer have control.
Perhaps EU members will some of the first countries to adopt a full Bitcoin standard as it'd mean they go from being interoperable with many other EU countries, to being interoperable with ALL countries.
Of course, there are other benefits of the EU, but a country could also be both an EU member and declare Bitcoin as legal tender.

Another thing to note is that most people only ever properly learn about something (and this applies to anything not just Bitcoin) when it's needed. For example, the horse won't drink even if you lead it to the water unless it's thirsty.
Whether you can generate that "need" in this individual is the real issue. It's hard to do, and you likely won't succeed. They will only truly desire to learn about Bitcoin when they truly need it, such as if they get debanked or start getting charged 20% fees for remittance etc.
Be patient. Be supportive. Be consistent and provide simple answers. It takes time, but eventually they will be burnt and / or realize that you're only speaking the truth 🙂

It will eventually, but getting to that stage by our best estimate will be at least another 10+ years for full integration and "default knowledge" as you described it.
Thing is, even then, you still have new people being born year after year. They'll fall into the same traps over and over unless they have parents / schools etc to guide them properly.
That's why we started Athena Alpha, named after Athena the Greek Goddess of wisdom and protectress of cities, to create a source of education that isn't from shitcoin pushing exchanges and that guides new people with security and privacy in mind. Not sure if we'll ever outshine the Coinbases or MSM... but the more of us that try the better!
