well from what I understand, they had the hardware finalized around the announcement, and the delays were to get the firmware into a shape where it… plays games. M64 sounds way better to me because you actually can do something with that beefy FPGA.

holy shit, virtualboy is pretty powerful, shit ton of layers, background layers can just use affine transforms, hardware level handling of sprite parallax, and a CPU with a cache, fast enough to allow nintendo to ship an optonal c compiler with the dev kit

Physics are cooked on switch 2, I think this isn't supposd to happen, and is probably related to them cutting corners with how they run physics to make this game work.
This is on quality mode, performance mode is more of a curiosity, because the framerate is all over the place there to a point where the game just turns into a mess if you start moviing fast and world streaming kicks in.
