LLMs can build games they can't play.
They can't predict the consequences of their actions. They are inherently incapable of planning and can't predict the next state of the world.
We all know this. We've all seen LLMs make a mistake, correct it, just to make the same mistake again. Or end up in a lobotomized infinite loop of "oh no you're absolutely right" responses.
LLMs are not the efficient frontier.
World models are forced to learn the "physics" of the world during training. They do this purely by observing interactions with the world. World models observe, plan, predict, and take an action.
And they are efficient. Unlike LLMs they present an opportunity for building agents with the ability to learn throughout their life. I've trained a world model of a Snake game on a MacBook (Yann Lecun JEPA style) in just half an hour. After watching me play for a bit and generating many random interactions, the world model is better than most human players.

I'm going to skip this one because of how stupid it is.
- UTXOs are expensive. You don't want to create thousands of them. And oh boy, you certainly don't want to receive them.
- Fees are low right now, which is why stupidity isn't being punished. This will change.
- Privacy is key. Everyone will be able to not only see your zaps but also what you did with that money into the future. Everyone.
- Silent Payments are meant to be non-interactive. It's not smart to make them interactive again. Study history or you'll make a fool of yourself.
On-chain zaps are the epitome of Mt Stupid but Bitcoin doesn't care and will punish you, so I don't care. This is not an innovation. This is going back 15 years just to figure out all the shit we've figured out a decade ago.
Thank you for the donation to the unspendable pool, your UTXOs will be preserved next to unspendable dickbutt NFTs and dust outputs, to shine on everyone's copy of the Blockchain forever.

I've been using SP payments since it's inception. Craig Raw, the dev of sparrow, one of the best Bitcoin wallet devs we have, literally published a whole GPU based scanner recently. It's not exaggerated. It just shows how naive these ideas are, given years of Bitcoin dev and discussions.
We've had all these ideas before years ago and discussed them many many many times.

The innovation of SP is precisely that it's NON-INTERACTIVE and the naive idea here is "hey let's just make it interactive so we won't have to scan the whole chain".
There are better ways of doing interactive SP's but it's so retarded to even consider on-chain zaps that I won't look up the BIP for it.

A specter is haunting the modern world, the specter of crypto anarchy.
Computer technology is on the verge of providing the ability for individuals and groups to communicate and interact with each other in a totally anonymous manner. Two persons may exchange messages, conduct business, and negotiate electronic contracts without ever knowing the True Name, or legal identity, of the other. Interactions over networks will be untraceable, via extensive re-routing of encrypted packets and tamper-proof boxes which implement cryptographic protocols with nearly perfect assurance against any tampering. Reputations will be of central importance, far more important in dealings than even the credit ratings of today. These developments will alter completely the nature of government regulation, the ability to tax and control economic interactions, the ability to keep information secret, and will even alter the nature of trust and reputation.
The technology for this revolution--and it surely will be both a social and economic revolution--has existed in theory for the past decade. The methods are based upon public-key encryption, zero-knowledge interactive proof systems, and various software protocols for interaction, authentication, and verification. The focus has until now been on academic conferences in Europe and the U.S., conferences monitored closely by the National Security Agency. But only recently have computer networks and personal computers attained sufficient speed to make the ideas practically realizable. And the next ten years will bring enough additional speed to make the ideas economically feasible and essentially unstoppable. High-speed networks, ISDN, tamper-proof boxes, smart cards, satellites, Ku-band transmitters, multi-MIPS personal computers, and encryption chips now under development will be some of the enabling technologies.
The State will of course try to slow or halt the spread of this technology, citing national security concerns, use of the technology by drug dealers and tax evaders, and fears of societal disintegration. Many of these concerns will be valid; crypto anarchy will allow national secrets to be trade freely and will allow illicit and stolen materials to be traded. An anonymous computerized market will even make possible abhorrent markets for assassinations and extortion. Various criminal and foreign elements will be active users of CryptoNet. But this will not halt the spread of crypto anarchy.
Just as the technology of printing altered and reduced the power of medieval guilds and the social power structure, so too will cryptologic methods fundamentally alter the nature of corporations and of government interference in economic transactions. Combined with emerging information markets, crypto anarchy will create a liquid market for any and all material which can be put into words and pictures. And just as a seemingly minor invention like barbed wire made possible the fencing-off of vast ranches and farms, thus altering forever the concepts of land and property rights in the frontier West, so too will the seemingly minor discovery out of an arcane branch of mathematics come to be the wire clippers which dismantle the barbed wire around intellectual property.

None of these solutions have any incentive to make it easy for you to compete with them.
There won't be any other Spark. It's very unlikely that there will be any Ark servers beyond the two companies working on it. Same with Liquid.
They want more fees, not more competition.
L2s are the strongest force for Bitcoin centralization in decades. Just like in the rest of crypto.

Cashu is powering far more than just Bitcoin wallets.
While most people think of standard user-facing Bitcoin wallets when they hear Cashu, there’s a whole separate economy emerging around machine-to-machine payments.
One of the best examples is Routstr, an open-source decentralized marketplace for AI inference.
Routstr uses Nostr and Cashu at its core. Providers offer AI inference, and users pay for AI with Bitcoin. You can use Routstr as a normal AI chat interface or as a provider for your own AI agent. It gives users access to hundreds of models, similar to OpenRouter, but paid in Bitcoin with strong privacy for the payments attached to your AI chats.
There are no accounts. To fund your balance, you pay a Lightning invoice and mint Cashu ecash. Every time you make a query, you attach ecash to the request itself as a bearer token and micropayment for that individual call.
Now here’s the cool part. Anyone can become a provider because Nostr is an open network. Anyone can become an ecash mint because of how easy it is to run a Cashu mint. And every Routstr user has full control over which providers and which mint they choose.
I think Routstr is a great example of what becomes possible with a micropayment system like Cashu on Bitcoin. It removes much of the friction involved in building apps that use payments, because you don’t need to create user accounts, build a ledger, or track users at the expense of their privacy.

there are some technical nuances worth mentioning, but they're well worth the tradeoffs IMO.
biggest win: regulatory. you can't access the bitcoin, so you're not a custodian. this would be massive.
inflation: ecash mint can't print more than it receives in btc. this is what hal finney did with his rPoW back in the day, but it wasn't tied to an existing currency.
reproducible builds: the mint is reproducible meaning that anyone can verify whether the version running in the enclave is malicious or not. the operator could potentially run malicious code but transparent logs would prove that the operator acted maliciously.
denial of service: this the biggest practical risk. the mint operator could simply turn it off and stop processing payments. since they can't rug the bitcoin, it doesn't really benefit the operator. if the operator used a funding source that expires, like ark, they would even risk losing their bitcoin which would disincentivize this behavior.
just to be clear: this does not reduce the risk to zero, but it does get rid of the biggest regulatory concerns which means that public organizations that can be held accountable have a realistic path for running mints without becoming custodians.
it's not a pipe dream, feasibility has been demonstrated internally. this is coming.
it's a win win win for bitcoin and bitcoiners.
