I know what you mean, and I didn’t want to sugarcoat it. You’re right. Personally, I’m not worried yet because I don’t plan on selling anytime soon. And for daily purchases, you’d already have to pay taxes anyway if you used 'new' sats. That was my point 👍
I’ve already considered moving abroad. The problem is I don’t really have any special skills for remote work or for a Bitcoin company. That’s honestly the only reason I’m still here

So far, we've only been able to use our sats in a legally restricted way. That’s staying the same, or will be even more legally restricted going forward. This doesn’t change anything about stacking for now.

Das spark wallet ding bei primal verstehe ich auch nicht. Wie ihr sagt, das wurde und wird immernoch stark kritisiert bei wos. Andererseits bekommt primal grundsätzlich Kritik aus der gleichen Ecke, dass es kein echtes nostr sei.
Was ich aber noch viel verrückter finde, dass Dac8/CARF kaum ein Thema ist, selten wird es von manchen wenigen angesprochen, noch seltener von Anbietern selbst. Schweizer anbieter haben dieses Jahr als puffer aber alle anderen teilen alles mit den Behörden. Namen, Daten, walletadressen, Transaktionen. Aber plebs sollen direkt auf ihre cold wallet kaufen? Ich hätte einen riesen Aufschrei und Lösungsansätze seitens der Anbieter erwartet. Stattdessen beleiht man jetzt seinen stack...
Bitcoin-Debitkarten services bewerben im gleichen Atemzug wie toll man im bitcoin standard leben kann mit eigener vIBAN verknüpft mit der eigenen self custody wallet und KYC durch die eigene bank, Direktverkauf etc. WTF? Bekannte Leute aus Europa, die auf X unterwegs sind, bewerben das auch noch.
Keine Ahnung was man von all dem halten soll.

I've noticed something strange. Whenever I connect to my @nprofile…5sm7 from outside using Tailscale, the Bitcoin Knots node crashes shortly after (shows as "not running"). If I try to restart it, it runs for a few minutes and then dies again.
I've confirmed it's definitely caused by Tailscale, remote access over Tor works perfectly fine with no issues.
The problem seems to be that block synchronization breaks as soon as Tailscale is involved, causing the node to shut down.

In my opinion, KYC was fine as long as you weren't planning to sell and you'd taken some precautions before sending it to cold storage (depends on your location).
For us, the government couldn't just access your transactions like that.
Things are gonna get rough in the EU starting in January. Every single transaction has to be reported, along with all your personal data, to the tax authorities.
P2P is changing from a 'may' to a straight-up 'must.'
The real wake-up call will hit in 2027 when the tax bill comes due, because you've been sending bitcoin back and forth too much, and now you have to prove where the money came from and where it went. Once it becomes clear that you actually bought things with it, that's when it gets 'fun' in terms of unpaid taxes

For a while now #Amethyst hasn’t been loading followers properly, search is basically broken, and a bunch of npubs can’t be found at all. Something just isn’t connecting right on my side. I’ve tried everything.. switched relays, toggled Wi-Fi on/off, mobile data. same problem every time.
