On the way home, I almost piled into a white Toyota that was stopped on the on ramp. I saw that the driver was on foot and walking back to the driver's door after shutting his hood. I waited for him as I blocked off traffic. Horns of impatient drivers were within proximity while I was telling my mom what was happening. As he pulled off, his hood popped up again and impaired his vision while he stopped again, only pulling about 10 feet from where he was. I immediately pulled closer to him and on the side, so I could let traffic through. After telling mom to hold on, I jumped out and approached the driver. He told me that his hood kept opening and it wasn't like that when he left. I assessed the situation and, as I observed, I told him that the left bolt was not in the metal frame, the frame on the left was not entirely there, and the right bolt was loose. I then scurried back to my vehicle and dug through my belongings on the passenger side. All I could think about was being decapitated if another vehicle piled into mine. I took my D Shape Aluminum Carabiner Key Hook, undid my keys and ran to his car. Epic failure. There was nothing sturdy enough to hold down his hood. At this point I new I had to search my trunk. Lucky for me, a co-worker saw me and she stopped behind me. I asked her to stay put and block traffic so I could dig in my trunk. In seconds, I found an iPhone cable, shut my trunk, and quickly tied it to his hood latch, and then around the frame of his car. He was going immediately to AutoZone.
