I'd say the lightning ecosystem is working just fine. Of course we could do better. ChadF++ and I are working on better wallet solutions.

I'm not sure, I think the person tag was made for these kinds of relationships.
If you publish medium=musicL playlists then I could see the case made for a publisher feed showing all the playlists you've published.
Maybe a rel="publisher" relationship is valid for this use case 🤷‍♂️
We're kind of in uncharted territory, which is why I invite discourse in https://github.com/Podcastindex-org/podcast-namespace/discussions/579#discussioncomment-17006145

I just made a bunch of publisher feeds for testing.

There re no real "DeMu" tools other than

https://new.musicsideproject.com/ and
https://github.com/de-mu/demu-feed-template
They all support publisher feeds (except for the raw text template)
but if you're going that route then you're not afraid of editing your own, as you said it is easy

lol, most DeMu solutions are vscode, musicsideproject or sovereignfeeds 🙂
For the most part the creation of publisher feeds is a manual one. @nprofile…x5pc is implementing easier account based publisher feed creation with MSP20
I only track lastBuildDate (incorrectly, I think) so I don' know how old the feed really is.

I updated this feed a long time ago. I removed the value blocks from the items and kept the channel level value block.
The index's web page shows the old wallets still for the items.
I haven't checked to see if the api returns the wrong value recipients.
This may just be a cosmetic bug with the website

v4vmusic.com doesn't have the concept of "follow"
It does have "favorites" feed level and item level
If 69 people favorite songs from the "Torcon VII" album I could post
`https://feeds.podcastindex.org/Album-TourconVII.xml", 69`
Or I could send play data
If several songs from "Torcon VII" gets played a total of 33 times I could post
`"https://feeds.podcastindex.org/Album-TourconVII.xml", 33`
I'm not sure which is the best signal for your purposes.

Turns out those feeds may have never been in the index. v4vmusic likely discovered them from the publisher feed.
Nevertheless for some reason they aren't showing up in the index after manual add.

I notice you allow artists to post wavs in feeds, totally valid, wavs are huge and problematic in many ways.
Most listeners use cheap earbuds and probably can’t tell the difference anyway.
I recommend discouraging wavs. If they insist on wav, maybe offer it as an alternate enclosure (or convert to flac?) and auto-convert to mp3 for the main feed
Saves bandwidth, keeps everyone happy, artists can still sell high-quality versions to fans who want them through other means.

I know you you're trying to stymie anything. I was just trying to point out that the classification discussion has never gained traction because people have too many opinions.
Classification is far too subjective of a concept to fit into things like slugs.
As people who write code, we like things to fit nicely but subjective thing just don't fit nicely.
I'm super stoked that this conversation is coming up. I've been wanting a formalized solution for years

It's questions like these that have stymied implementation of any meaningful classification system.
No one can ever come up with an answer that makes sense to enough people.
The hashtag concept is likely the best method, even though it's clunky.

Not really. Wavlake adopted the category tag, implemented wrongly, but whatever, it works.
I rolled my own crowd sourced tagging system that also pulls in the WL categories.

If you think of a feed like Music from the Doerfelverse then it makes sense to have the latest song at the top.
Yet, I can also see the case for the opposite.

This is the sorting algorithm that I use for music albums.
If there are S/E info I use that but only if it's consistent OR if there are pubDatess for all songs. Otherwise I fall back to the order they appear in the feed with the newest on top (reverse podcast order)
It appears that in Sovereign Feeds when you use the sort tool, SF removes the season / episode info and re-arranges the item in the feed.
pubDates are not useful in SF sorting

I believe it has something to do with memory usage and or the worker misbehaving. I haven't been able to pin point it yet.

If metadata goes out on nostr I would prefer it to be an encrypted blob.
Metadata should be private by default and shareable based on the wishes of the sender / receiver.
I can see future times when a supporter or artist gets arrested based on the content of a boostagram.
Things like this are already happening in the UK and other places.

The switch from keysend to lnAddress is the antithesis of growth.
When you grow you become better, not worse.
Keysend ticks way more pro check boxes and less con check boxes than lnAddress
The TTWWADI pejorative is unfounded. sometimes (not always) the older ways are better.
The only reason that I've been given to move away from keysend is "lack of support" from major wallets, Strike, et, al

My app doesn't support lnAddress (may never, we'll see)
When it sees an lnAddress it looks up the .well-known for the keysend info and uses that instead.if no keysend info it just fails the payment.
I don't hate lnAddress I just think it's the wrong tool for what I do.
I'm just a dinosaur who likes things the way they used to be 🙂

I've implemented Auto Boosting for live music shows.
Theoretically when listening to HH tonight, whenever Laurien hits the button on TSK a boost will be sent for the previous song she was "playing" so long as it lasted 30 seconds or longer.
This prevents her accidentally triggering boosts by clicking the buttons one after another.
All splits should be honored properly 🤞
Also AlternateEnclosure seems to be working.

I use an SM-58 It's an old school industry standard for stage musicians. It's basically bulletproof.
Does it sound great? No, but it's good 'nuff and I don't have to worry about it when It slams into the floor because someone had too many beers 🙂
You can often find Guitar Center offering it with a mic stand and a cable for around the $100 mark.

Audio in Linux is perfectly useable for most use cases but I get not wanting to change. I'm not sure if mixxx would satisfy Adam's needs, probably not.
I have still yet to find a good jack soundboard
As for John cleanfeed works perfectly fine in Linux.

From what I understand Helipad only relays boostagram info received from the tlv record (keysend). So any lnAddress boostagram would not show up.
lnAddress only supports 200ish characters of metadata which makes boostagrams very small. A different messaging system would need to be employed to relay TLV data. I believe Fountain is using Nostr for this.
AFAIK there is no agreed upon way of supporting full BGs with lnAddress.

It's probably a misconfigured bot. If I were a scraper I would make my bot do it nicely so you wouldn't block it, but there are vibe coders / script kitties that make bots all the time

If you would like to see how "intelligent" AI is.
Ask it to make a work schedule for a small full service restaurant which handles about 100 covers Mon - Thurs, 200 Covers on Fri, 300 on Sat. and 250 on Sun.
Tell it that it's goal is to figure out how many employees are needed and which shifts they are needed for.
Each employee should have a min of 2 days off in a row. Anyone who closes should not be opening the following day, and the schedules should be as consistent as possible.
