My advice - not either of my employers’ advice - to ANZ orgs regarding to US/Israel/Iran war cyber attacks: seeing a ton of activity. Some targeted, lots opportunistic. If you’re not a geopolitical target, increase threat posture. It’s too chaotic to fully predict and models can change at any time.

One of the crappiest trends I’m seeing in my mentorship sessions today is people getting laid off from large corporations after 20-40 years of silo right now. It’s really appalling if not unexpected.
If you’ve been somewhere over 5, 10, 20 years it’s worth looking at your employability elsewhere.

Jesus F Christ. This guy in Israel tried to Inmail pitch me a cybersecurity social marketing service today, and his last public LinkedIn post is a racist post bashing the Australian PM about the Bondi shooting that… pretty much would offend anyone in Australia.

Nobody really knows what screenshots are real or fake, nobody knows what’s just broken on geolocation because X fired their engineers, but a statistically improbable bunch of “American” alt right accounts popped up as created in Thailand and Nigeria.
It’s pretty expected 2025 bananagrams.

Um, so have any leftist gun people but me thought about the erm, additional unpleasant logistics of trying to legally ban only trans gun ownership? Because half of states require no or even discourage bg checks for buying a gun through private sales. So they would either be requiring trans status to be on ID or something (oh good, labeled minorities...) or we have bathroom bill 2.0 to buy a gun, if you look slightly too femme or masc.
And even if they only do it via the federal NICS checks at shop dealers, it means that there's a comprehensive federal database of trans people.
It is real real bad on a wholllle lot of levels. Even if you don't want to ever touch a gun, this is like either mass data collection on vulnerable people or visible marking on IDs, etc.
