I have successfully run the #LLaMA LLM (from Facebook) locally on my GNU/Linux laptop using llama.cpp and I have achieved better results and performance than what I expected. It was the 7B model and I was also able to run the 13B model. You can expect much better results with larger models!
It is exciting to see progress towards the possibility of a self-hosted #ChatGPT that runs locally.

Web-Whisper, the frontend for #OpenAI #Whisper I created, now can use the OpenAI Whisper #API (that was introduced just today!). You can now choose to run whisper 100% locally, or leverage the workload to OpenAI's servers (which are pretty fast) sacrificing privacy as your files will be sent to a 3rd party for processing.

Would really love if #Nostr clients had a plugin system. This way these could be extended a lot, integrating aything users want.
Client maintainers would focus on making the client the best it could be within the basic functionality.
Plugin maintainers would focus on making the plugin do a single thing, and do it very good.

I have thought a new kind of spam mitigation: "Sign-up to relay", it's the same concept where you enter your pubkey, but this time you don't need to pay, you just "sign it up".
Most bots will not sign up, so it should mitigate most spam, and still, it is free for everyone. No paywalls to social networks /information.
I'm currently working on it.

Had to remove relay database (whitelisted users are kept safe) as it seemed there was an event that was corrupted while I was testing and it was giving some problems. Lesson learned. This won't happen again!!

nostrgram.co by #[0] is the best client I've been able to test. It is fast, simple, beautiful and feature-plenty.
Only thing it lacks, for me, is the ability to install it as a PWA (Progressive web app)!

DeepL is NOT privacy respecting in any way. It is stated in their privacy policy. LibteTranslate is the best option IMO. Mozilla local translate is too another good one.

Could you use something like https://lingva.ml or LibreTranslate instead of Google?
This feature is not working at all on devices without google services (i.e GrapheneOS). For me, it's not working.
Also, I think this would be better if we had a button to translate on demand and not automatically. I am bilingual, I don't want everything translated.
