COSMIC 1.0.15 has been released. This update significantly levels up COSMIC gaming.
Multiple fullscreen windows on a single workspace has been implemented meaning transitioning from Steam Big Picture to a game and back is smooth. Games launch fullscreen as intended. Wayland pointer constraints protocol fixes the FPS games experience. And in-game menus are working well.
Available in Pop!_OS now and your favorite distro soon (if not already!)

COSMIC Frosted Glass is getting closer. The effect is subtle by default but can get very glassy if that's your thing. Or turn the effect off all together. Toggles and sliders in Settings fine tune the look to the style you want.

California amended their AB-1856 Age Attestation law to exclude open source software using the Colorado exemption example.

Update on the Colorado Age Attestation bill: Everyone that participated in the meeting last week submitted proposed changes to the bill. They included good ideas to improve consumer protection and privacy and exempt open source software.
Sen. Ball responded this morning that they'll now draft potential amendments.
I think we're making good progress. I'm off for a ski weekend with the kids. Have a great weekend everyone!

Went to the capitol today to meet Sen Ball, Rep Paschal, Rep Ricks, and three additional Denver constituents with concerns about SB26-051's effect on open source software, privacy, and security.
It was an hour and a half meeting that could have gone longer if it weren't for the building being shut down.
Our concerns were heard and shared. The next step is exchanging and discussing specific language changes to the bill including an exemption for open source software.

Today, I met with Colorado Senator Matt Ball, co-author of Colorado OS Age Attestation Bill SB26-051.
Sen. Ball suggested excluding open source software from the bill. This appears to be a real possibility.
Amendments are expected for the CA age attestation bill. It's my hope we can move fast enough to influence excluding open source in the CA bill amendments.
No illusions, it's an uphill battle, but we have an open door to advocate for the open source community.
