Why is the OnePlus bootloader scanning subpartitions on userdata? Why does this crash fastboot mode? (Could this be exploited somehow?)

For pmOS (both versions) we install into subpartitons (with a GPT) on the userdata Android partitions. We've been doing this for years, it works great.
The reason that it broke was because the bootloader appears to be scanning the GPT, and if a partition has a name that is > 24 char in length, it's impossible to enter fastboot. 25ch is way below the GPT spec limit. It can be recovered by clearing the userdata partition. I'll work on a fix in duranium to use shorter partition names. Fun times 🥳

Soooo... I spent a great deal of time yesterday trying to figure out why pmOS duranium images were breaking fastboot mode on the OnePlus 6 / 6T. This did not happen with mutable pmOS images. This wasn't caused by us using u-boot to EFI boot on this phone.
Wanna know the reason? Are you sure? Because here be dragons...

Does anyone in the US want to donate (or sell to me for cheap) an Apple M1 or M2 macbook so I can:
- Improve the #postmarketOS port for this device
- Use it to speed up my pmOS development[1] because using qemu/kvm to test is soooo helpful for the work I do

omg I totally forgot to announce this when I merged it but...
#postmarketOS has a new installer for laptops and tablets! 🎉
You can find images at postmarketos.org/download. Currently only pre-built images exist for Lenovo X13s and Generic x86_64, but it's easy to enable building images for other devices if there's enough interest!
It uses os-installer[1] on GNOME desktop, and is intended to be booted from USB disk to install pmOS onto local storage 🔥

@npub12g8…fmlz has been investigating this for us and hasn't been able to find much beyond what he commented here. If this affects the matrix.org room, it's kinda weird you haven't heard of this 😉
We aren't super excited about having to recreate the room, especially if there's no assurance that this will actually fix/prevent it from happening again later. The synapse folks don't think it's a problem with synapse or homeserver configuration... What other options do we have?

TIL that there's this major issue with the #matrix protocol where sometimes messages in rooms are just lost. Gone. Poof. We've been losing messages in the pmOS main channel for a few days now, it's pretty frustrating when trying to help folks.
They've apparently known about this for years yet there's no public info I can find about it. The only advice is to "recreate the room", which is quite disruptive when there are thousands of participants (and it'll happen again)

I found that disabling dmabuf gets gtk4 working again with the default vulkan renderer (using turnip, the adreno vk driver)
This is not an issue in the older Mesa 24.3.x in Alpine Linux when gtk4 apps run outside flatpak. Flatpaks are using Mesa 25.0.x.
I'm not sure if this is a regression in Mesa, in flatpak, and/or in gtk4. Vulkan tools seem to indicate that vk with dmabuf is functional in flatpaks...
Help debugging this further is appreciated!

I found a weird crash that seems to involve running #golang apps compiled for amd64 on an aarch64 system using #qemu.
It seems to be related to the Go GC, GOGC=off works. Go 1.20 also works.
The crash output from Go runtime is in this issue, but I've been able to reproduce this when building a very simple hello world app for amd64:
