well, here at my place, the titmouses used to sort out seeds they didn't fancy. Which landed on the grass. Which then attracted pidgeons, who in turn left (lots of) excrements , which my dog found interesting. So she stepped through them after sniffing, then returned to the house (with paws full of ****, which I didn't like. So I stopped feeding for a while, it was quite annoying. Apart from a thriving population of mice, who're still with me, the problem seems solved. I use rings now

as they do have a history and still mean sth to you, 'talk' to you, it's probably best to take them out of their frames and collect them in a box.
This way they'll take up less space but you can still look at them (before deposing). I am keeping and storing too. Seems I can't say good-bye 🙄

It's the same with cooking. Bought another pan today (I do own 6 already). But this one is special, it can go into my oven and that means I can cook Tarte Tatin without lending a pan! I'm really delighted about my purchase, still ... well it's yet another item in my cupboards 😬, though I've been trying to reduce. And to be honest, I did own seven. Forgot one . ....

We don't have grey squirrels here normally. They're invasive, as it seems, and when they appear, the red squirrels are going to die out, due to a virus (?) the grey ones spread. Or maybe it's because they're bigger. Someone introduced a couple of grey ones in Italy years ago. Since then, they are spreading. Not really good, as it serms.

🤣I tried using it, but we didn't fit together, so to speak. Quite confusing: Did I put the right ones in the right box & such. I switched to taking them as if I was young 🥳. Then again, I only take pills in the mornings. Easy. Whatever I need to be able to sleep isn't what doctors can subscribe here.

I agree. Retirement makes it possible to have special days on any day of the week. (One shouldn't exaggerate, though - otherwise it wouldn't be special anymore). But I do love the freedom to choose 😁

a proud appearance. Those are visiting my backyard daily, trying to get the leftovers of the titmouses.
Seems to be Wirkung. I hung the feeder a bit lower , just to see them jump. (I know that's mean but it's a real funny sight)

when I was in 7th grade, we had to buy a dictionary (Oxford) and were instructed, what the signs and abbreviations meant. But we don't teach this anymore, cause everybody just googles words. Which leader you without the benefit of what kind of word it is and how it's commonly used.
So there has been more info before but it's faster accessible with Google now.

😂recently I had to pick up child#2from the station of a town nearby. GPS led me to the backside of the station, though, while she arrived at the main entrance. We managed to find each other by using our phones.
Then she asked me however we survived without phones before. I really can't remember 🤔

you're right. I used to tell my students that all of us are time traveling. And at the end of that travel there'll be death. (I left the last bit out, of course).
Regarding it this way, life's the most fatal thing there is - it always ends with death.
Quite alright, I think, otherwise there'd be real big problems! 😊
I do like novels about time travel, though. The idea itself is fascinating . Audrey Niffenegger, The Time Traveler's Wife., for example .

I love those reminiscences!
When I moved out from my parents' house, I got such a tiny TV from my mum (already ancient at the time). Hey, I was grateful for having one first place! It had knobs, though. Rabbit ears too.
Had it more than 20 yesrs (in addition to the years it had been my mum's TV). Of course it didn't have a remote control. But as I was living in very small flats, it was quite manageable to change channels.

I used to love that song. It's from the start of the 70's, I believe. At least that was when we heard it here.
Lateron, I was deep into Heavy Metal, as Nazareth, Deep Purple & such.
Secrectly though, I liked Tom Jones, but this was unmentionable for a teenager back then.

those memories are only appreciated by older people,,I believe.
When we finally had a color TV, it didn't have a remote control. As we lived close to the airport, we were forced to jump up to turn up the volume, then jump again when the airplane had landed. Quite sporty! As I see it, there was no harm in jumping, but I'm sure, younger people, who grew up with handling everything by remote control, would be exasperated

I felt privileged owning an electrical typewriter in the 80s! It was much easier to type with (less force needed) and it was even possible to correct your text. But only the last two lines. And of course you had to use this blue paper to have a copy. And when the tape cassette was empty, and you didn't have one in store you had to stop working.

I took up feeding my titmouses again (with those feeding rings, hanging at the clothes line). This year though it's not the doves but magpies that are taking all of it.
Actually it's a very funny show cause they can't hang on it to feed. One of them is able to jump up, pick at the ring, swallow what has fallen down. Especially coming down looks extremely funny (to me). Her mate tries to get some leftovers. Can't jump, poor thing..

oh, I know these picky birds! In my case it's been the titmouses. What they threw down was thankfully accepted by the doves on the ground. Who in turn left lots of , well, shit. Which the dog stepped into. Before returning indoors. Not nice. Stopped feeding titmouses for yrs.😡
Nowadays started again as the dog is no more (I do love it when they're coming)

I don't think these can do all the cleaning. MY spiders prefer to sit a bit higher, so I'd have to clean the house in the old fashion. My kids use them and are fully convinced (I've noticed spiders in their corners, though.. . But 🤫) . Chacun a son gout 😇
