So I stopped smoking after noticing a weird dry spot in my throat some time ago. I was also worried about long term impact obv but the physical manifestation of an abnormality scared me into finally stopping any sort of regular cigarring. Weirdly though, the spot didn't go away and it actually felt worse some days so I started doing Google searches desperately hoping I hadn't given myself fucking throat cancer or something.
Turns out, as is ALWAYS the fucking case with me and any sort of neck issues of any kind, that it's just from sleeping in awkward positions. Forced myself to sleep at 45 degrees and on my back last night and voila! It's like 20% as bad as it was yesterday. Still going to get a nice cigar at the end of each month but I am beyond the period of my life where I feel like having one every day just to fucking cope. 🥂
