I think ancient windmills are quite objectively beautiful, as are solar panel fields and wind turbines.
The solar panel fields remind me of sunflowers tilting towards the sun when they move. The wind turbines, of giant flowers.
But can't find a poetic imagery for the others - for sure.

Like a of people I just finished a *long* family weekend (highlight "long") with genuinely nice relatives who felt that if you're going allow, and I quote, "drag queens do story time in schools" what did we think would happen. I agree the scale we're seeing is horrific to scales unimaginable.
But Rwanda had roughly 800K dead in 1994. Bosnia had roughly 100K. Both during Clinton.
But yes, neither figured heavily in any election campaign because they weren't particularly politically important and it was a different time where most people didn't even know where these countries were (and frankly didn't care).
