This year I grew two luffa plants for the first time. They took over half of our garden and I now have dozens of fruits.
This evening I peeled and cleaned the first few sponges, which turned out to be quite a pita, especially with any fruit that are still green.
Lesson learned for processing the rest is to wait until their skin is partially (but not very) brown, which makes the peeling part a lot easier, plus there is less gunk to remove...

@npub1nuu…gjr3, in the 90's I had one of those joystick port to MIDI adaptor cables too!
What's weird is that MIDI only really needs 3 pins (in/out/ground), so them using a 20 pin connector makes me think this might be a completely bespoke (non-MIDI) system...

Last weekend the #FediverseChicks did a field trip to the, erm, field (well, the place where we grow grapes, oranges, veg etc), which is a couple of km from our house.
They were pretty good at tolerating the drive, and got lots of rewards upon arrival:

I temped with Workshop 30 years ago (mostly doing catering) and they did their job with no fuss, despite not having a modern slavery policy back then.

The first couple of pictures show (not very well) how we've been drying peppers for making paprika here in Spain (by hanging them off a date palm to dry in the sun).
The last picture shows a field next to some olive trees, where peppers for commercial paprika production are grown (one of our small plots with olive trees is right next to it).
Commercially they just get spread out on a large concrete yard to be dried (no palm trees necessary).

I used to watch lots of music video shows in the 90s (I was blown away by MTV, when my parents moved to a new house and it had CABLE).
These days I mostly watch music videos of artists I already know and who make videos worth watching.
Artists like @npub1tk7…6cq3 and @npub1nuu…gjr3 spring to mind 😉

Well, listenbrainz is at least a very capable open source last.fm alternative and their parent project @npub10gj…9lu4 is pretty active in the Fediverse.
Plus, I've only just realised that @npub1erz…z7ey exists on the Fediverse now too!
Obviously not the same as being federated, but I believe someone (as in a third party) could already do all sorts of funky federated stuff just by utilising their API...

I managed to do scrobbling from Bandcamp to both last.fm and listenbrainz.org using https://web-scrobbler.com browser extension on desktop and https://kawaiidango.github.io/pano-scrobbler on Android (although the latter doesn't seem to record likes on listenbrainz for me, only on last.fm)
For local files I use panoscrobbler on Android and https://getmusicbee.com on Windows.
Sorry, don't have recs for Mac or Linux...

I've yet to hear from anyone that got something out of the PRS or (especially) GEMA, their German equivalent, *except* myself:
Last summer I got a red bag, a red pencil and a doggie bag full of chilies, together with their slogan "we are the hot shit for our full members"
(ok, the story is *nearly* fully true, except I can't remember the exact wording, it was very much to that effect though)
NB:"Full" members are the ~3000 members making >€30,000/5yr)
