As was noted below, there are ways to reduce scarring over time, usually with good oils. The most basic approach is cold-pressed organic coconut oil. Vitamin E is also very effective. Tallow should also work, too.

It's a proven fact in the US that the corn ethanol uses more energy than it "saves." They just keep it going because of big farm pushing subsidies through federal law. 🙄

Naw. I've been fixing 35 year old ECUs for a while now. Through hole stuff is cake.
Potted SMD stuff? That's not something 99.99% of DIYers can do correctly.
Eventually, every electronic thing will die. And when you can't even get new components, you'll have to go without or buy a new vehicle.
Eventually, I'll be getting an old Deisel truck with no electronics at all. That will outlast us all. 😁

Eeeeeh.
That's very debatable. If you have a direct DC genset, then, yes, it is arguable more efficient and in many ways more useful than running a vehicle.
But... Once you factor in conversion losses and maintenance schedules, generators are a huge hassle and that's why anyone that can sets them aside as backup and not primary systems.
Also, efficiency isn't what I'm after. I need robust, diverse sources of useful energy to do work. Just being efficient set point of use isn't a very large part of my system. Sure, it's good, but no one has yet been able to convince me that for my uses in my area that EVs are a better solution for most people.
Now... Electric bikes and scooters? That's where things tip waaaay in favor of all electric. (As long as you keep your battery packs

Electronic engine controls are not what I'm referring to. Specifically, the fact that by law in many countries, remote kill switches are required to be supported and then actively mandated. I'm very, very uncool with that. I'll never own a vehicle with an internet connection.

Sure.
Drive up prices on rare earth metals and increase strip mining while increasing dependence on China for the dirty bits of refining ores.
That process still relies on cheap hydrocarbons.
There is no cheap hydrocarbons because of regulation and taxes and because demand keeps increasing because nuclear isn't being built out to accommodate growth.
So... All of this is doomed to fail when one of those links gets cut or fails.
Plus... Electric cars are fully externally controllable. I can run nearly any ICE with self-brewed hooch, biodiesel, or even wood gas. Can't do that with electric. I'll always bias my long term plans towards independance instead of increasing dependence on centralized systems.

I think that confusion has been intentional on all fronts.
The same way that raves were co-opted into big business, the religious side of Christianity (being a follower of Christ) was co-opted into another control matrix.
Just like how not everything is bad about those big raves, not everything is bad about post-modern Christianity (I'm saying that in a very specific way for too many reasons to get into this moment), but if you want more authenticity, you can't seek that out in the masses (pun intended) that gather. That's explicitly the opposite of what being a follower of Christ and citizen of three kingdom of God is supposed to be.

That's actually an excellent corollary!
Religion is the formalized, curated experientialism. Relationship is a bunch of mates running an underground rave with people who want to be there to celebrate being there with other people who legit want to be there.
I would like to also put in a word that I'm not saying all ritual is bad. Christian Faith has many rituals that are supposed to join the mental, spiritual, and physical together in closeness with Jesus. However, too many people forget that performance is not the same thing as choosing presence and attention in a relationship. They want the high of experience without the discipline of bringing all of you to the time and place.
Does that make sense?

I don't consider myself religious. Religiosity is gross. I continually gravitate to Jesus because He literally came to restore our relationship to God. (That's a big discussion but, that's as simply as I can put it.)
Raves are nothing new. If you didn't know, most "pagan" religious rites involved most elements of modern raves. But... That's literally manufactured experience and not at all what I seek, even if it can be a significant experience. I find that many of the same manipulative techniques are used in most modern churches in the US. Totally skeeves me out, cuz at least if I'm going to a rave, I know what I'm going for.
Experientialism is another issue entirely.
I just seek authentic relationship. S'why I like so many nostriches. They just are. The share the stuff they like. We can laugh and cry and help and even try to correct bad behavior together.
More than any other religious practices or ideologies, I've found that the most in being a follower of Jesus, trying to live up to His impossible standard, and trying to learn to love myself as He loves me, despite me being a huge retard most of the time. Ain't nothing else like that, IMO.
