Just finished Lethal Weapon 2 with the kids. I have to say, Joe Pesci was a perfect addition to the group. The Three Stooges vibe was just perfect - what great chemistry everybody had with each other. A very enjoyable sequel.

I like Maker's Mark, although I think Bourbon connoisseurs consider it on the low end.

I've tried fancy Bourbon. I've tried higher proofs, Buffalo Trace, Wellers, Russels . . .etc.
They're all fine. Nothing bad to say about them.
But my palate for whiskey is terrible. I prefer cheap, garbage Bourbon to any of the fancy stuff.

I show my kids a lot of "classic" shows. Something I've noticed in the shows and/or movies from the 80s and into the 90s - suicide is a common topic. However, it is invariably the point of the story to show that suicide is wrong and not the answer. Suicide was also a common joke in cartoons like Looney Tunes.
I feel that it's now a taboo subject and not worked into the stories of modern shows and cartoons. However, I don't really watch modern stuff, so I can't say for sure. Any thoughts?

Just kidding. Point Break is iconic, but also over-the-top ridiculous. It's definitely not a great, well made movie, but it is very entertaining in its own way.

Yeah, I enjoyed it. Season 2 wasn't bad, either, although it would have been a lot better if it had another pass through the editing bay (the editing is just lazy and the episodes grow flabby).
But not bad. It blew chunks on season 3, and I wouldn't watch the upcoming movie if they paid me $1,000.

Andor was pretty damn good, though. Rogue One is okay (my edited version is tighter and better), but Andor added a layer of depth to the entire Star Wars universe that, I think, actually makes the original trilogy more enjoyable (which is something any good prequel is supposed to do). It frames galactic politics in a realistic way, and also makes the sacrifices of a rebellion more tangible.
The other stuff is all bosh.

My translation has "Vengeance is mine" which gives a divine aspect to Justice not in the sense of "keeping society safe" but in revenging wrongs that have been committed.
Different folks have different strengths and weaknesses and temptations. For me there's no personal aspect about what I'm saying. It's just a fundamental law of reality - society cannot exist without justice, and justice requires severe punishments for severe wrongs.

My sympathy is entirely with the SSPX in this situation. Church teaching for thousands of years says "Salvation is through and in the Catholic Church."
