We don't know if it will be feasible to support 11th gen Pixels prior to Android 17 QPR2 or even Android 18. Android 17 QPR2 was already well into development with public Betga releases available for a while already. The changes for 11th gen Pixels may not be rolled into it and that may happen with Android 18. It's certainly possible to add support with only Android 17 but it's way harder and we haven't determined if we're going to need to wait yet.

Initially, Google would usually provide access to the tarballs within a couple hours. Lately, they're often taking weeks to get back to us. They're the ones who chose to use this archaic system instead of pushing Git tags and it's their responsibility to handle requests promptly.

It's common for the initial attempt at fixing a privacy and security issue to be incomplete or incorrect. These changes sometimes even introduce new vulnerabilities. There are often multiple rounds of partial fixes. Truly fixing it often requires major changes or rewrites impractical to backport.

The way Fairphones are marketed in terms of privacy, security and updates clearly isn't accurate. Devices without proper updates even in the short term which get much worse in the long term aren't sustainable. That draws into question the rest of the marketing. The reality of their devices is that they're designed and made by an ODM rather than Fairphone. Whether their ODM has more ethical practices than Foxconn does for iPhone or Pixels isn't easily determined.

DivestOS is a harm reduction project and not really a hardened OS. It's not a good choice on Pixels where you're ending up with significantly worse overall security from lack of proper patches. https://eylenburg.github.io/android_comparison.htm is missing coverage of the fact that LineageOS massively rolls back the security model and has months of delays for patches after yearly and to a lesser extent quarterly releases. That's inherited by DivestOS. Privacy and security are not just about features.
