Mi momento favorito es cuando cruzan la frontera con Nevada. Esa escena es una fabula bellisima sobre como el Estado no es todopoderoso, y gran parte de su influencia viene del miedo de la gente y no de la capacidad de control del propio estado.
El viaje personal de Willing hasta ese momento me parece una madriguera por la que mucha gente en Bitcoin todavia tiene que caerse: el darse cuenta de que se pueden desobedecer muchas normas de muchas maneras, sin que haya consecuencias.

The emergence of more solid ecash implementations and the following lowering of costs to adopt them will put a lot of pressure on custodians, which is great.
In a world were adopting ecash in your custodial service is easy, not doing so makes it evident that you want to know what your users are doing.
It will be great for consumers. We will be able to know who's willing to comply with KYC and who likes spying their users just by looking at whether they provide their service with ecash or not.

Una idea que he madurado hablando con mucha gente: la medula espinal de la domesticacion y sumision de los ciudadanos en occidenta es la cuenta bancaria.
Si no tienes una cuenta bancaria, eres extremadamente mas dificil de castigar por parte del estado. Si una parte minuscula de la poblacion consigue vivir sin cuenta bancaria, se vuelven ingobernables por la falta material de recursos por parte del estado para perseguir y castigar a todos.
En muchos paises con tasas bajas de bancarizacion se puede ver libertad que en Europa no existe.
Si conseguimos construir una sociedad paralela, donde uno pueda subsistir sin cuenta de banco, podremos empezar a poner en practica todo los elementos de tu lista en masa.
Y dicho esto, ya seguire la chapa otro dia que tengo que ir a pagarle al carnicero con lightning...

I know everyone recommends this and that wallet for XYZ reasons. I'm here today to briefly shill Phoenix Wallet as a hot onchain/LN wallet for noobs or even lazy power users. This might be interesting if you have never used it OR you used it anytime before a couple of weeks ago. If you are in the latter group, your experience is now outdated.
Okay, you might have heard a lot of noise recently about Phoenix and the new splicing stuff and how awesome splicing is. It is, but I'm gonna skip the technical bit today and present stuff from the user POV.
Okay, so what's the deal? Since Phoenix 2.0 started to use splicing, this is the cool stuff:
You can send and receive onchain sats. You simply pay the miner fees when sending. That's it.
You can send and receive through Lightning. Usual LN fees (the proper super low ones, not the stupid high ones from Muun and the like). I can pay a 10,000 sats (~3$) beer through LN and the fee will be around ~40 sats (roughly, one cent).
You only see and have one balance. Everything you have is both spendable onchain and through Lightning. No need to juggle to balances and go around swapping like an idiot.
The backup is a 12 word seedphrase. You know the drill. The wallet is noncustodial and you hold your own keys.
Feels like nothing? Well, to me, it feels like a gift from God. Giving a complete noob a wallet in 2023 before this option came around was a drama. You have to deal with a monster matrix of feature combinations, onchain vs lightning, custodial vs noncustodial, normal seedphrases vs crazy recovery schemes, etc. And no wallet crossed all the checks. Muun was the wallet that so far came closer to having it all, but it had its issues (weird backup approach, crazy fees for LN, lack of transparency on how certain features worked).
Now Phoenix has finally done it. The noobie installs it. Writes down 12 words. You send him his first sats through onchain or LN, whatever you prefer. He can then send it out again through onchain or lightning with reasonable fees for each option. All non-custodial and with a great UX.
I'm dramatically pumped about this. It's going to be such a great tool for onboarding people. And also as a personal wallet, even if you are an experienced node runner.
I would like to leave with a call to action. If you haven't tried Phoenix 2.0, please, do. And once you have, spread the message and show it to newbies so that they avoid other worse options (Muun? Already discussed. WoS? Custodial. Bluewallet? Two different balances for onchain and lightning).

- Explicar xpubs para que la gente entienda que puede tener watch-onlys. Hay mucho novato por ahi poniendo su seed en un bluewallet hot por ignorancia.
- Explicar multisigs 2-of-3.
- Explicar lo peligroso que es hacer single sig + passphrase en la cabeza. Hay mucha gente que hace esto sin darse cuenta de que lo que tiene es esencialmente un multisig 2-of-2 mal backupeado. Lo peor de ambos mundos.

Not the most scalable and requires the person to trust you (Uncle Jim), but if you have your own LNbits instance, you can easily create new accounts there for them and set them up with a Lightning wallet in Bluewallet that's hosted in your LNbits.
They can easily send and receive through lightning, and if they somehow lose access to their BW/phone, you can easily set them up on a fresh BW again.
