One of the incredible ironies of the modern web is that StackOverflow was basically created to curbstomp a terribly exploitative SEO web site that annoyed tech people for years by polluting search responses with trash responses.
Then generative AI turned all of SO's content into the next generation of trash responses.

Over the years I’ve come to the conclusion that a safe and inclusive social network simply isn’t something that can be created by architecture or feature selection, any more than something like “allyship” is a specific set of voting positions.
If you have a place where people congregate you have to accept that you will have to evolve it in realtime to address threats. There are anti patterns you can avoid, but abuse and exploitation are APTs, not bugs.

Oooo, it just might be. Mostly I'm coming back into the scene with some specific ideas (mostly-empty left and right sidebars that embeds can “expand" into and sidenotes can float in). Ages ago I'd have banged at it poorly with margins, media queries, and offsets but I'm curious to see what the new set of tools brings to it…

I ended up leaning on parsing of exported archives to handle threads, but it (naturally) chokes on threads with multiple participants.
