I think it is really important to analyze the implication of the new IETF Draft Meow MRRP in the wild. I strongly assume it will lead to widespread loss of carriers when applied in areas where IP over Avian Carrier is in use. More research is needed. And funding!

HIer noch das finale Update: Gestern war erst der Schornsteinfeger da (Kesser und Rekuperator verrusst), dann der Heizungstechniker (alle weiteren verrussten Teile gesäubert).

Unser altes Haus hier hat ne Ölheizung. Der Brenner zeigte seit Freitagabend einen Fehler an. Handwerker hat erst am Montag Zeit. Draussen einstellige Temperaturen, gestern Abend im Haus nur noch 16 °C. Meine Frau so: "Kannst du da nix machen?"
Bin dann mit "Verdammt Jim, ich bin Arzt und kein..." Einstellung zur Steuerung gegangen.
Oh, da gibt's nen Knopf "RST". Ich frage mich...
5 Minuten später hat das Kesselwasser 56 °C.
Ich: "Ich haben Feuer gemacht!"
Frau: "UGAH!"

IMO SoC in PCs is just an euphemism for "We give the customer a small speed boost but make it absolutely unserviceable and keep out competitors". I mean for the average Apple customer, will they ever perform a task on the computer where the time and bandwidth between CPU and RAM or GPU really matter? (Apart from virtualizing software that would have run without virtualization if it weren't that SoC 😉)
