Mic audio is noticeably processed, but in return the audio is crystal clear and understandable all the time, no PC-side filtering needed. See Rtings samples for Noise Handling: https://www.rtings.com/headphones/reviews/sony/inzone-h9-ii - it really does sound like that in practice.

- VERY comfortable to wear basically all day, material earpads are breathable and the clamp is strong enough to stay on your head but not much more than that.
- Audio is very similar to XM6s, except that the default EQ seems to do some funny things that makes bass even heavier.
- ANC is light but good enough to mute stuff happening at home/office while playing audio. Not good for commute etc.
- The mic quality is very decent, better than any beamforming mics. Mic noise rejection is *fantastic*.

Minor recent epiphany: Gaming headphones are pretty good now?

Needed decent headphones with a good mic for calls, all the Teams/UC-certified options are overpriced pieces of crap. Rtings suggested some options, got a pair of Sony Inzone H9 II, which are essentially gaming XM6s (same drivers, very similar audio quality, slightly different EQ, the same bassy Sony sound you know if you had any XM2/3/4/5/6 cans on your head).

- Pairing to work laptop: Rarely used, but if present, the headphones will ALWAYS autoconnect here first. Same issue with HFP/HSP until manually reconnected.
- Pairing to personal laptop: Occasionally used, never autoconnects, audio stream tends to get "stuck" and needs a BT stack restart to work again.

Just. Why. None of this stuff makes sense.

- Pairing with desktop: Used very often. Never autoconnects on Linux. Requires 3-4 manual connection attempts to work. Sometimes autoconnects to Windows (same keys shared from Linux to Win).
- Pairing to work desktop: Used very often. Usually autoconnects, but always starts in HSP/HFP profile and A2DP (high quality audio) is broken until manually reconnected once. Then it works until the headphones power cycle.
- Pairing to Android: Basically never used, but generally works when needed.

The fantastic world of Bluetooth headphones: I have a pair of Sony WH-1000XM3, a bit old but still decent pair of cans with ANC and stuff. Great form factor (foldable!), really bad microphones, passive emergency 3.5mm input when the battery dies. It's paired to 5 devices over Bluetooth.
