Yesterday, the Green Party & Queer Greens were proud to stand alongside our community at Causeway Pride. It was a fantastic day, full of joy, solidarity and resilience, a reminder that Pride belongs everywhere, not just in our biggest city.

Rural Prides matter. They create visibility where it can be hardest to be seen, build community where isolation can be greatest, and remind LGBTQIA+ people that they are not alone.

Every family that can’t afford to heat their home is more likely to need the NHS - and less likely to access the care they need.

People are being left homeless while the Executive hides behind empty promises and soundbites. Families waiting for help are being told to wait even longer, as the number of new social homes is cut from 2,000 to just 400.

Housing is a human right, not a privilege for the few. If the Executive is serious about tackling the housing crisis, it must fund it like a crisis.

Anything less is a disgrace.
