Many people want “the good old days” before vaccines and pasteurisation and so on, forgetting that in those days only half of your kids lived to school age (and raw milk did not help that).

Heck, parents did not name kids for months, knowing they would not last long enough. It is illegal in Scotland. Oddly it is legal in England and Wales, but needs a registered farm, held to way higher hygiene standards, selling from farm shop, with a warning!

Sellers must be losing loads of business.

Even we, a small seller, I assume, see a lot or sales at the weekend and will lose that. We are owed thousands in existing sales which may vanish if they never come back on line. I know at least one order has paid and we can not ship as it was just before they went off line.

But the 3D model uses some designs with non-commercial licences, so they may be OK to sell "at cost" based on what JLC3DP (npub1eyp…c6m3) charge me - I hope that fits within the licence.

Obviously I also publish the STLs to allow printing one's self.

And then a simple LED controller which I already sell.

Let's see how it goes.

When I had a stroke I was actually quite shocked at the lack of information from NHS when discharged.

When I had a fall I had like four separate "you broke, or nearly broke, this that and the other" type advice sheets. Very good stuff.

For a stroke I only had one thing on speech issues (with a number to call if I had problems, yes, really!). Nothing on what is a stroke, or why, or what to do next.

But it seems that if ever I have a hip replacement the NHS has detailed advice for me... Phew.

There are several alternative Faikin sellers, good luck to them. A few have ordered boards that don't work, no clue why. I mean I use the same files to order, but oh dear, how sad, never mind. It is all open source, and I try to help where I can.

My guess is roughly $30 for board, $30 more for SCD41, and $30 more for LCD.

But depends, and this may be $25 each not $30. I have to factor VAT for people in UK. which sort of makes the difference there.

The concept is it could be done without the $20 SCD41 and that part even snapped off. Also, if just sensor/display the button could be snapped off. The main board is same size as 2" LCD, but can fit 2.4" in theory.

The WAGOs allow power from behind (e.g. 12V DC), and also allow DS18B20 so you can monitor multiple temperatures (good for outside temp as well as inside, or maybe heating systems that need multiple sensors).

I'm expecting the new environmental monitor boards this week ...

Obviously MQTT over WiFi, but no reason the new board cannot appear as a BLE announced remote temp sensor to work with Faikin. What would be cool is if Faikin can have option to advertise its status to be displayed on the environmental board LCD. Obviously buttons at some point would be great to make it a BLE remote for the Faikin.

The itching and the reaction to the dressings adhesive has been way worse. I think keeping sterile / clean has helped a lot with the pain - no sign of infection at all.

It allows laws to be lax enough to make EVERYONE A CRIMINAL.

That allows the state to choose against who they will enforce laws. No matter how hard you try you will be a criminal under some law, so if the state simply DOES NOT LIKE YOU, they don't need a new law to tackle you as they have a load they don't usually enforce with which they can tackle you.

During the day I am not in the room, so do not care if it has windows or curtains.

During the night I am in the room but want it dark, to sleep.

So why windows? My bedroom has windows and curtains but I never open the curtains. Why would I?

Just seems odd.

One of the stupidest plots I have seen, as watching again now, is why the fuck did the Xindi in #StarTrek "test" their weapon on Earth so that Earth had time do something about it. There is zero logic on that. They would test on some other planet (as they did later) and only come to Earth with an Earth killing weapon ready and tested as the first thing Earth would find out about it (albeit briefly).

But gcc is giving stupid errors (can’t find sys/cdefs.h) and no bloody clue why.

I hate making silly mistakes.
I’m glad they are rare.
But last couple of weeks I have managed at least two, costing a few hundred dollars.
Stupid wrong spec on orders, like ticking top side only on a double sided PCB order. More cost to rework than reorder.
I’m not used to this. Maybe don’t order stuff when I have a cold. Or maybe I am getting old.
