It can be destroyed. It will dissolve in nitric/hydrochloric acid, Platinum will not. Most metals need to be mined at a cost, some with higher cost/yield than gold.<br/><br/>2.It did not become money because of its conductivity, as that wasnt valuable during the time period we are talking about. Gold is less conductive than silver and copper, but more resistant to corrosion and oxidation. Gold is more reactive than platinum and others and less heat resistant while being slightly more conductive than those. All these metals can be used in electronics.<br/><br/>3. Gold is the most malleable metal, making it a great option for various uses, jewelry, decoration, and forming into coins being the most impactful at the time it was being adopted as money. Like i said, great properties for being the best metal money<br/><br/>4. It is not by far the most useful metal out there. This is a subjective statement. This happened because of the tech who removed the door for access to replace rivets, due to a quality issue, failed to document that the door was removed. The tech who replaced the rivets temporarily put the door in place when he was finished and because it was never documented as removed, It didnt get a permanent install.<br/><br/>Accidents in aviation happen, theyre not supposed to happen like this, in production especially. You can easily blame the tech for forgetting, but these things are much more likely to occure under heavy pressures and stress.<br/><br/>So what happened?
