You can spend any UTXO if you have the correct key, even if it's written on a napkin, but a good wallet makes it much easier.

To keep your bitcoin safe, you must secure your keys against both theft and loss. If someone finds a key, they can spend the corresponding UTXO(s). If the only remaining copy of a key is lost, the box will remain locked forever. So, make a few copies of your keys and keep them safe.

I love hot showers, at least I used to. Eight years ago I heard about Wim Hof, the Iceman. Since then, all my showers have been cold, and every morning, a shock of cold reminds me that I'm tougher than I thought I was.

I also use less time, energy, and water getting clean. And it's an instant 100% wake-up.

My pain as a bitcoin believer was from seeing that these guys were delaying the inevitable progress of bitcoin. From not wanting to wait so long for a future I still think is coming. Peace came from accepting reality, and finding patience.

What will it be like when companies and nations that are 'holding' bitcoin at 3rd parties get rugged for hundreds of thousands of BTC? Will we still be assholes for saying 'not your keys, not your coins?' I'm also going on the record now to say, "Your rollback to reclaim your lost coins is just an airdrop for me on your fork. The BTC you thought you had on the actual blockchain (the one my node will remain on) was never really yours at all. So no, you can't get it back."

I did notice that I have to hold the card still and let it read for longer than I would have thought. It's not a tap like an NFC credit card, more like a prolonged conversation between card and phone. (Sorry if this is too basic and unhelpful.)

If you're sitting there doom scrolling right now, find a local gym and ask about a free trial (most will give you at least a free week). The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America, When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

0) Yanked the internal (small) mechanical HD and plugged in a 1TB USB drive.

This was a fun project to spend a few hours on, and it gave an old laptop a new life. Noticed this laptop has two interna drive bays, so I *might* try a RAID 1 variation someday soon. Any advice?

I've used Ubuntu before, but never Ubuntu Server. Seems like it trims a lot of excess 'fat' as all I really wanted was an OS to host Umbrel's Docker stuff. So far it's syncing pretty fast. Interested to see how it performs compared to my old Raspberry Pi Umbrel node.
