There are many reasons historically, people used to have children and often, many children.
1. Labour - many hands make light work
2. Legacy
3. Old age care plan
4. High testosterone levels
5. Absence of other entertainment/distraction
6. Low infant mortality

1. no longer needed (AI, robots, other basic tech like dishwashers and washing machines)
2. Wonderfully and Sadly with the internet people can leave a permanent mark or stain of themselves on this planet into eternity without having children.
3. The breakdown of the family plus care facilities make this redundant.
4. Need I say more. Easy times + toxic food + sedentary lifestyles drop testosterone levels to a fraction of historical norms.
5. Convenient distractions combined with low testosterone, need I say more.
6. Spares are no longer needed.

I’m sure many other points could be added here but I’m out of time.

Final thoughts, don’t try to convince others to have children. There is a process of natural selection at play here.

Every week, I speak with others who have long treated property as their primary wealth anchor. Many are now rethinking that stance. Quietly, at the margins, capital is rotating.
The pattern is familiar: gradually, then suddenly.

Understanding Value Through a Longer Lens
To understand where we’re headed, it helps to zoom out.
For centuries, gold has served as the world’s most trusted store of value. In Australia, the relationship between gold and housing has been remarkably stable over time. The median Brisbane house price has hovered between 300 and 400 ounces of gold for more than two centuries. Despite fluctuations in nominal prices, that ratio has remained a reliable measure of relative value.
But that balance is shifting once again. Gold is re-monetising — regaining its role as a neutral, apolitical store of value. At today’s prices, 300 ounces of gold can now buy roughly one and a half houses, suggesting that gold is slightly ahead of housing in this new cycle.
Yet even gold is being outpaced. Bitcoin is harder money than gold. Its supply is not just finite — it’s fixed. It’s digitally scarce, globally transferable, and immune to manipulation. Gold still depends on custodians and physical logistics; Bitcoin removes that friction entirely.
When you zoom out, three truths become obvious:
1. Bitcoin is monetising faster than gold.
2. Gold is monetising faster than housing.
3. Housing is demonetising.
The world is quietly repricing what it means to store value.

A Realistic Goal for the Next Decade
So, what does this mean in practice?
It suggests a simple, grounded financial aim: accumulate the equivalent of one house’s fair utility value — between $156,000 and $312,000, depending on the standard of living you’re targeting — in sound money (Bitcoin or gold).
As housing continues to shed its monetary premium and Bitcoin (alongside gold) continues to absorb it, those two curves will intersect. Over the long term, the price of real estate — when measured in sound money — will fall.
Our measuring stick, fiat currency, is broken. So, while nominal house prices may continue to rise in dollars, their true value — measured in Bitcoin or gold — will decline. What looks like property appreciation on paper is often just monetary debasement in disguise.

I remember when my son was 2 and I’d had a hammer out fixing something. I’d asked my eldest son (14yrs) to put the hammer away. I little while later from another room I hear this weird tapping sound so my curiosity got the better of me and I followed the noise to the kitchen. There in the kitchen was my 2yr old ‘fixing’ our brand new fridge with the hammer. 😂

I’ve always liked your reasoning and agree with your take however Core have majorly screwed up.
So whilst from a practical sense, maybe core are onto something, their ability and/or willingness to communicate their logic, stinks.

If for no other reason other than messaging and cultural it only makes sense to run knots.

I also think mechanic is onto something. Core’s determination to force through this highly contentious change REEKS of less than ‘for the greater good’ incentives. The way Core are behaving it is like ‘the overloads’ are holding Core Devs’ first born children hostage until the change is pushed through. My gut says this is beyond ego and something truly perverse lies at the root.

I’ve had marinating in the back of my mind, for several months this quote that I heard on a podcast, “millionaires don’t consult astrology but billionaires do”.

More recently I came across Webb’s The Great Taking… and it occurred to me that some entity has gone to decades worth of effort and expense to have legal changes made and aligned globally for the exclusive benefit of the global banking cartel. As part of that alignment, according to Webb and source documents all changes needed to be in place by the end of 2023. This was achieved. Which led me to wonder, what’s the hold up? The trap is set… everyone is in the cage (via the everything bubble and the Western mentality of leverage is king), so why not spring it?

So that led me to start wondering about timing and due to the above quote to look at Astrology as a possible clue to the timing.

As part of that enquiry I went to the Wikipedia page that says an astrological great year is: 25772 solar years… this number varies depending upon where you look. A great year being the time it takes to cycle through the 12 zodiac.

The shorter period above: 25772/12 =2,147.667years. This number feels a little too close to when the Bitcoin halving cycle ends and the final Satoshi is mined into existence to be a coincidence. My thought being with numbers this big and cosmic alignments a decade or 2 are potentially irrelevant. Although, it looks like Christ might actually have been born 6-7years BC (again estimates vary between 2-8yrs). Christ coming into play because his birth being supposedly our year 0.

Leading me down an entirely new rabbit hole that draws on ideas I read about in Fingerprints of the Gods several decades ago. This book has some very interesting theories about Christ and other messiahs who seemed to appear at similar times, globally across many disconnected cultures, yet all appearing very similar in look and bringing great knowledge and wisdom with them.

So this led me to wonder if the Bitcoin halving is an astrological count down to a specific cosmic alignment that only comes into play approximately every 2147 years?

I’ve been letting this marinate for a few weeks now and I agree, it would definitely make sense from a ‘maximising potential reaping’ perspective to let liquidity run riot, massively pump the ‘everything bubble’ before the global rug pull.

There are no prefect solutions and people who think Bitcoin is the future, think it possesses better trade offs than gold.

To directly address your criticisms

1. You are kind of correct and also wrong at the same time. Bitcoin is designed to be digital peer to peer cash. So if you had a $100 bill that you wanted to pay me with, I’m not particularly interested in whether that same $100 bill was used in an illicit transaction previously. Plus, the UTXOs history can be hard to follow through mixers, consolidation/splitting and through layer 2 mechanisms.

2. Bitcoin is no easier to lose than cash or gold. It requires user carelessness or stupidity to lose.

The main reason lots of Bitcoin have been ‘lost’ is because, in the early days, it was worthless and the people playing with this new toy did not value it as it cost them nothing to acquire. So these early holders often threw away or sold the laptops where their Bitcoin keys were stored.

I’d even suggest, the more valuable it becomes the harder it is to lose.

Yes the timing is tricky. We are acting as if it is imminent. But praying we’ve got a couple of years to unwind some stuff.

I can’t help but wonder if all the ETFs, corporate and govt treasury BTC reserves etc have been allowed to happen to ensure a decent sized chunk of corn gets caught up in the tradfi blow up. If all the legal framework was in place by the end of 2023, the very sudden regulatory backflip and subsequent ETF approval might have been the last domino in place.

Imagine if we had gone into another “Great Depression” with BTC completely outside of the existing system. The protected class would still have collected heavily on all tradfi assets but they would have been completely without BTC which would have allowed BTC to stand up as a completely neutral form of money without counterparty risk.

Now, with say 10-20% completely captured within the system it is certainly enough for them to price manipulate it through a crisis and make it difficult to transact with in any meaningful market/value discovery kind of way.

Maybe gold for the short term and BTC for the other side???

Reading the Benjamin Roth’s diary provides lots of insights as to how bad things can get. He talks about realestste loosing 90% of its value and people who owned realestate outright demolishing buildings, including hotels so as not to have to pay property tax, which they were unable to pay because all the banks closed and thus their ‘passbook money’ was frozen. Back then tax was charged on the improvements (buildings) not the land. They couldn’t pay the taxes as nobody paid any rent. Nobody could not pay rent as there wasn’t even enough money for food. Over 30% of the people in his town were lining up for charity food. Those that were ‘employed’ in their own business, doctors, lawyers, shop keepers, tradespeople had virtually no customers. Often their few customers had no money to pay so a barter might be struck. It was nuts how low values dropped so BTC would be difficult if tradfi markets were dictating price. Could have value in a close knit circular economy (think Galt’s gulch) were a small productive community self sustaining could set prices amongst themselves.

So tread carefully. Jack Mallers new Strike loan might be ok but ONLY if Strike is debt free. If Strike rehypothocates your Bitcoin or any Bitcoin to back their subsequent loans (does not matter if customer collateral/assets are segregated or not) your Bitcoin used as collateral for your loan is wholly able to be taken, is how I understand it.

B. attempting to have interesting conversations with friends, family, acquaintances, work colleagues, strangers about anything that is not in line with mainstream narrative.
C. Global marriage and birth rates
D. Global suicide rates.

Prepare accordingly: NFA
1. Gather self-custodied hard assets: Bitcoin, Gold. Not your keys, not your coins
2. Eradicate any debt and/or leveraged positions
3. Grow your own food
4. If you live in a city, have a fall back position
5. Grow your social capital… this means love and help thy family, friends and neighbours. Even the pre-coiners.

Similarly, I view Fiat as a tool of ruin and Bitcoin as a tool of preservation. Ultimately, this brings me to a place of gratitude for fiat, for without the havoc it has wreaked, we may never have brought into existence its’ counter balance, Bitcoin.
