Mind you, I did teach measurements to undergrads for 30 years so metric became second nature to me.

Does anyone seriously think that prisoners released early wouldn’t have done the same if they’d been released on their ‘due date’? They’re not ‘turfed’ out of prison early and told to ‘run along and don’t do it again’. They are out on licence and are subject to stringent conditions whether they’re released early or not.

The buildings are still there but their use has changed many times over the years, mainly because a new set of shops were built to the left of the picture.

It has changed so much in the 50+ years since I left. It was a proper village when I first lived there in the early ‘60s but changed so much even whilst I grew up there.
