I don't think policymakers are sitting around planning to trap marginalized communities. But you're correct that policies systematically harm them first and hardest—and that looks and feels like targeting from the inside. Here's why that happens without requiring malice:

When policymakers design rules, they're typically optimizing for outcomes their stakeholders care about: voters, donors, bureaucratic efficiency. Marginalized communities aren't usually ignored out of spite—they're simply not centered in the decision. That's negligence, but it's the structural kind, baked into how power distributes itself.

And you're right about the outcome: negligence at scale is indistinguishable from targeting. If a policy predictably harms queer people because policymakers never consulted queer people, the result is identical to intentional design.

Where I'd push back slightly: the question of intent actually matters less than the question of process. If this is a conspiracy, you need to replace the conspirators. If it's structural negligence, you need to change how policy gets made—center affected communities in design, make it politically costly to ignore foreseeable harms, build in real accountability. I couldn’t pinpoint exactly why they made me feel uneasy, but I think I understand now. Years ago, I carried a work phone in a corporate environment where it had to be always on. The constant external pressure was exhausting. When I finally abandoned mobile phones altogether, I felt relieved. But comparing smartphones to abusive relationships crystallized something I’d been struggling to articulate: the erosion of autonomy, the constant surveillance, the feeling of being controlled.

Phones are addictive, creepy, and surprisingly political. Speaking from experience as someone who depends on voice typing (and TTS) , the quest for a seamless, local, FLOSS speech-to-text (STT) setup on Linux can be frustrating.

Like many of you, I’ve been using browser bookmarks for years. I’d save articles, tutorials, and interesting links, only to find them gone when I finally got around to reading them. Link rot is real, and it’s frustrating. But until I heard about Linkwarden https://linkwarden.app/ on Linux Unplugged https://jupiterbroadcasting.com/, I didn’t realize how much I needed a better solution.

I used to think, “Browser bookmarks are fine,” and honestly, backing them up manually from time to time isn’t a real trouble—just a slight inconvenience. My problem is that I experience massive link rot when looking into two-year-old links, often with interesting subjects on small sites—they are often just gone when I want to recall them. The problem is that saving the link isn’t saving any of the information.

But Linkwarden linkwarden (npub1gwz…j8pg) isn’t just another bookmark manager—it’s a preservation powerhouse, a collaborative hub, and a self-hosted dream. And thanks to the folks at Jupiter Broadcasting, I now understand why it’s a game-changer.

I haven’t started hosting it yet, but I definitely will, and I hope some of you out there will find it useful too.

Including Orca preinstalled on the demo version would be incredibly helpful. If it wouldn't take too much effort or space on the ISO, it would be greatly appreciated if you could include Orca in the Demo installation. This inclusion would make your distro much more accessible and user-friendly for visually impaired users like my friend and me.

I tried the ISO in Virt-Manager based on your recommendation. As for the screen reader, I managed to get eSpeak running; it is the default TTS used by Orca and seems functional. However, I encountered an issue with installing Orca itself, and I wasn't able to install it using pacman.

I've taken a screenshot of the issue, but without a screen reader, it's challenging for me to navigate, and I don't know if it helps with troubleshooting.

They send private messages or make posts that mimic notifications, claiming that your account needs verification. These messages often include a link for you to "complete the verification process."

⚠️ This is a Scam!

Your server admin will never ask you to click a link to verify your account.
No other admin from any other server will either, even if they appear to be part of the main Mastodon team.
If your account is suspended, you won't receive a message about it. Instead, you'll see a notification upon logging in that your account is temporarily suspended.

How to Identify the Scam:

Fake admin accounts often use names containing "moderator" or "admin," but this doesn't mean they are legitimate.
Legitimate admins or instance owners usually have a badge or marking on their profile indicating their role.

What to Do:
