Honestly, I’ve lost faith in management of most of these. They are either inexperienced, in it for the opportunity (not really BTC focused or maxi), or both.

It won’t end well, think they will slip up and lose keys, negotiate a terrible deal, get in trouble and start cooking the books, etc.

Even Saylor is doing this in real-time and adjusting.

Best thing is be mostly in BTC. These just add some entertainment and leverage. Few BTCTCs will outperform BTC long-term, assuming management can execute. The others likely to be acquired maybe by MSTR or Metaplanet.

I think you nailed it. To me what makes sense is main allocation to MSTR. If someone just held that as their BTCTC portfolio allocation I think long-term it’s fine.

If you want additional exposure you could add Metaplanet, after that it’s difficult. Smarter Web and Capital B could be a smaller third position.

TwentyOne I think will compete because of jack mallers (npub1cn4…3vle). Hard to know where to put them now though.

Other than these really hard to know. Management and experience is key with these.

The dark horses are SQNS, ASST, NAKA, and DDC. The rest are lottery tickets.

Even then, people will shortly return to their old habits.

I call it the Hurricane effect. After a natural disaster, like a hurricane, everyone walks out to assess damage , see who still has power, etc.

Neighbors you barely talk to a house or two down come out and you start talking, a group forms, everyone engages and has hours of conversations. This could be days or weeks in some cases. Everyone says “we should do this more often”.

But shortly after the power returns, people crawl back into their homes and life continues as it always has.

I think this applies to everything. Money, social media platforms, etc.

It requires a lifestyle change – a rewiring.

I hope you’re right though! Hopefully getting rid of fiat fixes it once and for all. Even if it takes a generation or two.

Bitcoin treasury companies (BTCTCs) are deploying their capital to buy bitcoin in one of two ways.

Lump sum or DCA.

I would argue it’s better for a BTCTC to buy lump sum at their size (like Strategy $MSTR or Metaplanet $MTPLF).

Some other companies like Smarter Web $SWC $TSWCF prefer to DCA over the short-term, hoping to get a lower average price.

DCA works with smaller sums but eventually Bitcoin will run and shareholders will be affected by eventually buying at a higher price.

Picking up pennies in front of a steamroller.

I will say when I’m “forced” to go, I usually enjoy myself and I’m glad I did it.

Except clubbing, always hated it and couldn’t wait for it to be over. Mostly because it eventually ended with someone getting in an argument or fight. That and I was always cheap so spending $200+ on a $40 bottle of whatever we were drinking just to get a table (VIP) always hurt lol.

Sometimes I spend time and really think about where I am, where I want to be, and the gap in between the two.

Sometimes difficult decisions are required to make the leap to cover the gap.

There’s a chance I’ll miss and fall on my face but the reward if I make it would be worth the attempt.

These difficult decisions are easy to put away for a later time but you miss opportunities.

Cheers to the risk takers out there. I don’t think there are as many of us as I thought.

I kind of envy those seeking safety at times, there’s a comfort in it but to me the biggest risk to safety is being too comfortable.

The value investor will see opportunity on the lower mNAV.

The growth investor will see opportunity in the higher mNAV which generates a higher BTC yield.

Most mNAV calculations are simplified and don’t take debt or cash into account (effectively EV - enterprise value).

Investing in LBE’s is a really interesting exercise.

I usually put them on at the same time to get that initial smoke in.

If you have an upper rack on the smoker, you can put the belly there and it might be done around the same time as the pork belly.

Can you just roll over the debt forever?

That's kind of the goal isn't it? Have Bitcoin appreciate in value over the borrowing cost and roll over the debt and live happily ever after?

Let's see...

Short answer: Maybe. Only if you control five risks – and 12%+ APR makes that challenging.

Risk #1 –  Volatility risk

Volatility ≠ risk when you long-term hold but it is with loans! Borrow too much and the volatility can trigger liquidation (margin call anyone?).

Even big names get margin‑call pressure: Newsweek ran a piece on how a deep Tesla price drop could force Elon Musk to sell pledged shares.

Rule of thumb: keep loan‑to‑value (LTV) below 25 %. That survives ~60 % price drops before hitting a liquidation trigger.

Risk #2 – Interest‑rate risk

Bezos and Musk borrow at 2‑4 % because banks love ultra‑liquid mega‑cap stock collateral.

Unfortunately you're not Bezos or Musk, and banks still consider Bitcoin highly risky so you're stuck with high APR's for now (12%+ as of now, though jack mallers (nprofile…6dtc)
hinted at sub-double digit offerings).

If BTC returns stall below the rate for a few years, interest snowballs and you shrink instead of grow. I know saylor (nprofile…mhjz) says it's 30% ARR but there could be a massively down year that can wipe you out if you get too greedy.

Risk #3 –  Refinance risk

Rolling the debt “forever” assumes lenders always renew on friendly terms. In a risk‑off market they can raise the rate or refuse rollover.

In extreme cases, there may not even be a lender available and you have to sell BTC to cover or find highly unfavorable terms.

Risk #4 –  Custody / rehypothecation risk

Some crypto lenders re‑lend or rehypothecate your BTC. If they blow up (see Celsius, BlockFi) your collateral can vanish even when price goes up.

Recently, Mallers cleared this up with Strike (no rehypothecation) and others listed above seem to mostly be on the same page but there's still a risk of them losing your BTC in a hack or some other black swan event.

Risk #5 –  Regulatory & tax risk

Congress has floated closing the “buy‑borrow‑die” loophole.

New regulations could tighten BTC‑secured lending or change step‑up rules.

The ultra-wealthy can borrow cheap, on very liquid collateral, and usually keep LTV ultra‑low. You, fellow pleb, even with a 10 % APR, would need BTC to have double‑digit returns every single year just to break even after tax and loan costs.

Yes, borrowing is "tax-free" but if you ever have to sell BTC to cover, it will be a taxable event.

So can it work? Yes!

But only at low interest (hopefully soon) and low LTV.

High APR's carry real danger: one bad year of flat or down BTC price plus rising rates can wipe out years of compounding.

If you want to do this: keep borrowing small (≤ 25 % LTV), stockpile an interest buffer, and be ready to shrink the loan quickly when #BTC moons (if it helps you sleep at night).

Bitcoin proxies make sense for others. Not sure where you’re located but hopefully there is some sort of Roth IRA equivalent you can use.

I definitely take advantage of a Roth because come retirement I can withdrawal tax free. It’s a big benefit, especially for assets with a lot of growth.

Shorting or going long isn’t exactly leverage unless you’re doing it with margin on an exchange.

Bitcoin proxies provide leverage because they trade at a multiple and also are able to use low interest debt to buy more and use operating cash flows to pay for most of the interest.

But if you’re comfortable with just the bitcoin itself, just keep doing that!

You don’t have to use different tools like Bitcoin proxies, options, futures, etc. Simplicity can be the winner long run.

If so, it depends on the person.

It makes a lot of sense for people with assets in retirement accounts where they can easily invest in Bitcoin proxies as well as Bitcoin ETF’s.

Most Bitcoin treasury companies are essentially leveraged Bitcoin plays. Usually performance is somewhere between 1.5-2x spot Bitcoin.

So for people that want more performance from Bitcoin and are ok with the additional risk a company inherently has, it might make sense for them.

Some brokerages or retirement/401K accounts still don’t even let you buy Bitcoin ETF’s so these companies are a way around that.

It’s definitely not for everyone.

Why am I bullish on Bitcoin?

The US deficit will only get larger.

There are possible tax cuts and revenue will decrease. Tariffs may offset but not significantly.

It’s unlikely this (or any) administration will do what’s necessary to truly get the deficit under control without insane levels of pain for both Wall Street and Main Street.

What’s the result? Money printing.

In a money printing and inflationary environment, hard assets like bitcoin, gold, real estate and quality stocks benefit.

What’s the ultimate hard asset? Bitcoin.

I’m just thinking of the US, this is a global problem and all major countries are on the same path.

Choose wisely and save your hard earned money in Bitcoin.

Back in early 2020, I recorded 36 episodes covering market updates and technical analysis, with Bitcoin occasionally mentioned. Even though I was in the Bitcoin rabbit-hole, I kept quiet publicly, valuing privacy and cautious after hearing stories about Bitcoiner attacks (shoutout Jameson Lopp (nprofile…d27a)).

But honestly, it's been frustrating to stay silent. So screw it, I'm jumping back in to share my enthusiasm and unique perspective as a small business owner passionate about Bitcoin with experience investing personal funds in business, stocks, bonds, options, and real estate.

I don't have much experience podcasting but I'll work hard to provide quality content and I'll keep it as real as possible avoiding cringe "Retire with 0.0001 BTC by 2030!? 😱" content.

Ever notice how people constantly misunderstand Bitcoin?

- They think it’s anonymous or great for crime (it’s not).
- They think it’s bad for the environment (wrong again).
- They assume it has no real value (also incorrect).

Let's quickly debunk these myths, one by one:

Anonymity Myth: Most people believe Bitcoin transactions are anonymous. Actually, the Bitcoin blockchain transparently records every transaction. This means every movement of Bitcoin is permanently visible. It's not hidden – it's far less anonymous than cash. It's an open ledger for all to see and review. Dumb for criminals to use.

Environmental Myth: You've likely heard that Bitcoin mining is bad for the environment. But did you know the majority of new Bitcoin mining facilities use surplus renewable energy – energy that would otherwise be wasted? In fact, Bitcoin is increasingly incentivizing green energy investments globally.

Intrinsic Value Myth: “Bitcoin has no real value,” some still say. Yet traditional currencies, like the dollar or euro, aren't backed by anything tangible either. They depend solely on trust and consensus, exactly like Bitcoin. Heck, some could even argue gold to have no real intrinsic value either. Bitcoin’s scarcity (only 21 million coins will ever exist) and global adoption reinforce its lasting value.

Volatility Myth: Some people dismiss Bitcoin because it’s volatile. Meanwhile, smart investors (which have done their research) quietly capitalize on volatility to build significant long-term wealth. How? Because volatility provides unique opportunities for growth if you know what you're doing, they buy when others are fearful.

Government Myth: Finally, skeptics argue Bitcoin could easily be banned by governments. This argument today is pretty easy to dismiss now that the US has established a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve (SBR), Digital Asset Stockpile, Bitcoin ETF's are the most popular ETF ever and getting deeper into the financial plumbing, public and private companies adding Bitcoin to their balance sheet and treasury, governments considering issuing BitBonds, etc. It's getting harder and harder to ban Bitcoin every passing day.

Sure things may change in the future but it's unlikely. Why? Decentralization and widespread global adoption have made banning Bitcoin impractical – even impossible. Countries that previously opposed it are now regulating and adopting it instead.

Spend some time doing the homework and keep an open mind!

Technical analysis guy over here! It’s just probabilities. Some TA folks go nuts with indicators. Not too different from the Bitcoin fundamental dudes looking at hash rates and other on-chain metrics.

It definitely works for me, even simple things like Fibonacci levels, support and resistance, volume profiles, gaps, and RSI/macd are more likely than not to provide good valuable insight. Just S/R can be enough honestly.

Liquidation heatmaps are nice too!

I do the copy past screenshots mainly in order to credit the original poster on whatever platform I find it and try to tag if they are here on Nostr.

Personally don’t find it as annoying to see the screenshots and think it’s overall positive as the news is spreading in its own way here.
