From his lowly start on a mini Christmas light bulb to king of the whole backyard, Little Bit is a huge presence. When I walk out I immediately locate him. Sometimes he’s missing but always shows up within a couple minutes. I love this bird!

This cormorant is having a wonderful time just chilling with the ducks. I had to finally investigate why they are called double crested cormorants because I have never even seen a single crest much less two. Turns out it’s their breeding plumage and the “crests” are tufts at the corner of each eye. Ok, now that I have that straight I will be on the lookout 👀

The critters seemed to be loving it but I got bedraggled. 5 PM 90 degrees no shade, good thing I brought a sun hat! Not too many birds but I did see a load of cormorants and ducks. I was hoping for a glossy Ibis but I might be too late. Will return in the early morning or later evening when the conditions are gentler
